Now I ask you: what can be expected of man since he is a being endowed with strange qualities? Shower upon him every earthly blessing, drown him in a sea of happiness, so that nothing but bubbles of bliss can be seen on the surface; give him economic prosperity, such that he should have nothing else to do but sleep, eat cakes and busy himself with the continuation of his species, and even then out of sheer ingratitude, sheer spite, man would play you some nasty trick. He would even risk his cakes and would deliberately desire the most fatal rubbish, the most uneconomical absurdity, simply to introduce into all this positive good sense his fatal fantastic element.

“...it devalues the currency so that $13k effectively becomes 0”

The moron writing this piece probably knows this but is betting on the vast numbers of plebeian morons not having a clue about the effects of to much money chasing to few goods.

Why do I need AI?

Didn’t the Democrats already promise me unlimited “free stuff”?

You certainly reference that song more than others.

It’s a very fine song on the album although I prefer the title track, “New Frontier”, “GoodBye Look” even more.

The full video version of “New Frontier”...perhaps because my blonde HS girlfriend wore “Ambush”.

if the government collects and redistributes the wealth that AI will generate, AI’s exponential productivity gains could “make the society of the future much less divisive and enable everyone to participate in its gains,” Altman says.

Oh, confiscate and redistribute wealth (Equally). Otherwise known as communism.
It worked so well everywhere it’s been tried so far...../sarc

AI smart enough to give us everything we want will be smart enough to decide there is no need for stupid talking monkeys anymore.

Play with fire and you get burned....

From “Network”

Arthur Jensen : We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Beale. It has been since man crawled out of the slime. And our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that... perfect world... in which there’s no war or famine, oppression or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I have chosen you, Mr. Beale, to preach this evangel.

Howard Beale : Why me?

Arthur Jensen : Because you’re on television, dummy. Sixty million people watch you every night of the week, Monday through Friday.

Howard Beale : I have seen the face of God.

Arthur Jensen : You just might be right, Mr. Beale.

I think I see a flaw in your brilliant plan...
