Pretty good description of what we could be looking at in a full blow government attempt to confiscate civilian weapons. They asked that the article not be excerpted so you'd need to go to the site-SurvivalBlog.com.

Many of the comments are prescient. They knew eventually we’d have a radical leftist in the WH and the progressives would do whatever they could to get their way, laws be damned. And 3 short years later...here we are.
Americans won’t do anything. They’ll gladly hand over their weapons.
The Founding Fathers threw tea into the Boston Harbor over a 3% tax. They started a war because the British wanted to take their firearms.
We failed to uphold our part.
A little more math.
Let’s say there’s on the order of 100 million firearms owners in this country.
Then let’s further conjecture that in the event of a ban/confiscation 99.99% of those firearms owners either “turn them in” or bury them in the back yard, never to again see the light of day.
That leaves 10,000 non-compliers.
Then let’s conjecture 99% of those non-compliers go out in the proverbial blaze of glory.
That leaves 100 guys, highly-motivated and likely highly-skilled, to resist in the manner described in the original linked article.
Then, dust-off your foggy memories and remember how much chaos two guys with an old beater of a car and an AR-15, firing one shot at a time, caused in the Virginia/Maryland/DC area about 20 years ago.
Remember also how much chaos ONE rogue/pissed-off cop caused in the LA area a decade-or-so ago.
Then ask yourself if my estimates of how many would take themselves out of the fight are unrealistically high.
Let that stew around in your mind for a while.
John Ross claimed in Unintended Consequences that the IRA never had more than about 200 active fighters, in a country the size of Ireland, an island nation.
And they kept the country in turmoil for decades.
But they did not post stuff on the internet.

Only one assumption that is incorrect. The statement:

The Posse Comitatus Act will be jettisoned prior to any confiscation orders. And as we are seeing today, the US military of tomorrow will more than gladly participate as the “Door Kickers” stated in the story. Most likely they will do it gladly as they will be brainwashed to the point of hating Conservatives, gun owners, the religious, etc...
The military of tomorrow will have no qualms about bombing entire neighborhoods, rolling Abram tanks into towns and wholesale murder tens and hundreds of thousands (or millions) of Americans. (”You can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs” as the old commie saying goes). When you have a leading member of the House Intelligence committee threaten gun owners with nuclear weapons ... you know that they will have the military in their pocket.
That is the one flaw in the article.
There will be no massive house to house confiscations.
Why would they do that? It would spark mass resistance.
They would play the generational game, like they have in England.
The guns are illegal.
They are hidden.
When one surfaces and is made known to federal authorities, a warrant is made out and the gun confiscated and the person arrested.
Over the next two generations, more and more guns are made illegal.
50 years from now, our great grandkids turn in any guns they find, grateful a kind police are willing to accept them without a penalty.
And they kept the country in turmoil for decades.
Unfortunately, our opponents *want* our country in turmoil.
It is how they win.
It is how the Chinese become the predominant world power.
There will be no massive house to house confiscations.
Why would they do that? It would spark mass resistance.

While the math all makes sense, I think the author is making some unwarranted assumptions about how the attack on our guns will progress and the forms it will take
And because of the way it’s going to be done I think he’s also making unwarranted assumptions about the willingness of people to start shooting.
There is the possibility, however, our opponents *want* to spark a civil war or hot insurrection.
They may *want* to destroy the United States.
Many power elites around the world would love that outcome.
Unfortunately, there’s no rational rebuttal to your assertions.
