Who ever thought we’d wish we were living in Eastern Europe where they now have more freedom than we do.

Unless, of course, you’re an illegal alien.

Well a usage tax based on milage could be a conservative thing to do if it involved removing the federal gasoline tax. Of course that will not happen and I am sure monies generated would go to urban mass transit over highways.

And when they do that, I am sure they will do away with all the federal gasoline taxes . . . . /sarc

From the article:And guess who funds the U.S. Treasury?

You and me.

The government, including the treasury has zero money of their own. Every dime they spend comes from you and me.

Yes, I know they can "always print money." But that always winds up biting the country in the ass. It's not real money, it's Unicorn money.

I’m sure the idiot voters who chose biden, and the millions of phantom non-existing “voters” whose votes also went for him, didn’t think very far ahead to what their votes would mean. And now we are seeing what those votes mean. No one who voted for the geezer has any right to complain.

So let’s just kill off more jobs. Good grief!
All those who drive to make a living or commute to work will be hammered the hardest.

I sure hope all those never Trumpers are freaking proud of themselves.

i thought that was the idea behind federal taxes on gasoline... the more one drives the more gas one buys the more money for infrastructure.

You’re correct.

“i thought that was the idea behind federal taxes on gasoline... the more one drives the more gas one buys the more money for infrastructure.”

Increased fuel efficiency and the emergence of hybrid and all-electric vehicles has lowered the federal gas-tax revenue per mile driven. This proposal has been around for many years as a “fix” to the infrastructure funding issue.

There is an absolute solution for this. Many times I have posted it..

Secession.

I am so WITH you, buddy. I cannot for the life of me understand why secession is not a major discussion.

Somebody stopped me the other day and said “We won’t be allowed to secessed.” I was floored.

We can seceed as long as we can defend ourselves and our decisions. The Armed Forces may not be our friends (somehow I think the military will see it “our” way and pretty quickly..and if I am wrong we will just do without and create a different current universe.)The State and local police are very reasonable and will help protect us as individuals, I believe and have cause to believe. There will be those who do not understand the Constitution as usual.

BUT we are still in control of our rural and interurban areas and if we make moving out to us by big necessary businesses easy that should help the secession.

I can see no way out of this stupidity from Covid 19 restrictions (NOT scientific date running that tomato) to a Democratic takeover for 100 years. Not on my watch and not by me.

Let’s succeed and seceed and do it elegantly and be done with them. We must protect our borders not let them in until we are at least mostly finished with our movement. Having lawyers and judges who know the Constitution and Bill of Rights and pertinent other laws and legal questions will be essential and I think we have them among us.

We must not accept this crap from Kamel toes, Bidychick and those others who want a communist country. They are so ignorant they defy intelliegence. We must never cow tow to the globalists. They are not intelligent enough to understand many of us operate out of a spiritual impetus and money, tons of money, is not the goal. Happiness to be free is the goal and with it a nicely constructed user friendly society with freedom to speak and be spiritual beings.

Bodega

they can do this without monitoring

everyone gets emissions tested and the mileage numbers for the year are determined, pay the bill or no sticker

This won’t be based on odometer readings, they will use GPS transponders to implement the tracking to get the level of detail they want.

Tin foil and a wet rag on the GPS antenna does wonders.

Along with ALPR’s. Automatic license plate readers are already in use nationwide.

Not sure about every state, but I know here in Texas they are in use.

Sugarland or Stafford Texas..can’t remember which was in an article as having installed ALPRs on roadways that lead in/out of the city so they could track who enters/exits, what time, date.

If you live in Texas, take a look at your plates. High reflectivity coatings, sharp edges on the lettering, water marks for centering the image to capture and watermark squiggly lines to separate digits to the image capture technology can rapidly decipher the characters and compare with state DPS databases real time and hundreds per hour.
