USPS: No evidence to support Pennsylvania employee's claim supervisors sought to tamper with votes
Washington Examiner ^ | March 18, 2021 | Mike Brest

U.S. Postal Service investigators found no evidence to support one Pennsylvania USPS employee’s claim that he heard his superiors discuss tampering with mail-in ballots.

Richard Hopkins, identified as a U.S. Postal Service employee in Erie who signed a sworn affidavit claiming postal supervisory officials hatched a plan to backdate ballots mailed after the election, later recanted his story to investigators, according to the Postal Service’s inspector general.

During his second interview with investigators, Hopkins “revised his claims, eventually stating that he had not heard a conversation about ballots at all — rather he saw the Postmaster and Supervisor having a discussion and assumed it was about fraudulent ballot backdating,” the report, which was published in late February and posted to the blog 21st Century Postal Worker on Monday, states. He “acknowledged that he had no evidence of any backdated presidential ballots and could not recall any specific words said by the Postmaster or Supervisor.”

Hopkins’s allegation was peddled among Republicans, including then-President Donald Trump, many of whom engaged in an attempt to change the outcome of the election by questioning the integrity of the votes and the constitutionality of some of the methods of voting that states turned to amid the coronavirus pandemic, although some of the election changes predate the outbreak.

I demand to investigate myself anytime government accuses me of something. No govrnment investigation, just me.

I want the same ability as the usps to self-investigate.

Was I taking crazy pills when the “he later recanted” trope was refuted by him directly? If I recall correctly, he was badgered by investigators into agreeing to singing something that was a partial agreement by him that he didn’t see some aspect of the original story explicitly but was firm that his story was accurate and the only reason he could come up with for that something to have occurred was that something else was true, and then within a day of that investigation, the news got hold of word that he recanted his entire story. Then like four days later he went on camera and explained that he stuck by his original story. If that was all a dream, it’s better that I know that now.

After all those meetings with Pelosi, I would expect the post office to lie like a rug. Does the media think we are stupid?

They didn’t need to. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court changed the rules contrary to laws on the books to where they could engage in legal fraud.

Got rid of evidence....

How many stories in local media had “local postal carrier threw mail in vacant lot to avoid reprimands for not meeting work quotas.?” I had one self addressed manila envelope returned to me by another employee who found a hidden away cannister with a lid on it and my mail and hundreds of others inside. “Really illegal” he told me. Duh.

‘...later recanted his story to investigators, according to the Postal Service’s inspector general.’

He never recanted. The investigator asked if he could have misheard it. He said he might have. That’s not a recanting.

He didn’t recant his story, and those people ran away from being filmed.

ok read it. bs meter pegged off the scale.

house oversight committee? of what? seriously, i’ll take O’Keefe’s word over this leftist reporter/paper and the usps any day.

the buried lead:

“We have recordings of the federal agents, who COERCED this man through a 4 hour interrogation without representation, who stands by his original affidavit re: backdating ballots,” Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe tweeted in response to the House Oversight Committee. “Standby for recordings doubling down on backdating ballots. This is soviet style truth suppression.”

This is what happens when “the elephant in the room” is so large that the investigators end up with their heads up it’s rump !

It is like the second person who was with Timothy McVeigh when he picked up the rental truck he used for his terrorist attack. There was an FBI composite drawing and eyewitness testimony it was based on.

And then the story changed. McVeigh was alone and drove both his car and the truck home by walking back and forth between them. And the people at the rental company remembered differently...

Made all kinds of sense to me.
