Cumulus Media and Westwood One have agreed to terms with conservative commentator Dan Bongino to host a daily three-hour show from 12-3pm eastern.

Bongino currently hosts a daily podcast for Westwood One that since March 2020 has been repurposed into a one-hour syndicated show on over 100 stations including 790 KABC Los Angeles and 560 KSFO San Francisco.

The new show would air live in the timeslot currently held by Limbaugh on many if not all Cumulus owned Conservative Talk and News Talk stations.

Bongino is a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent turned conservative pundit and investor in digital properties including Parler and Rumble. He has previously served as a fill-in host at WMAL Washington and WBAL Baltimore and multiple syndicated talkers including Sean Hannity.

An official announcement should be forthcoming by early next week.

I wonder if Rush ever talked about his replacement to anyone in private?
Would be a good question for James Golden.

I know Rush often talked about Jesse Waters having a bright future.

I happen to think Waters would be Rush’s best replacement. He is articulate and witty and young. And his voice modulates, but not to extremes, which is important.

He would earn a lot more than he does at FOX, if he was given all 600 of Rush’s stations.

Actually Walter Williams would be Rush’s perfect replacement if he hadn’t already died himself.

He was brilliant and had a contagious sense of humor ( esp about his dear wife and how to maintain marital bliss)

Am chuckling now thinking of it.

I miss Neal Boortz too, but there were social issues that he stayed away from and never touched like abortion and right to life.

He had a great voice and a great style, as well as the key element in a good radio host - unpredictability and approaching issues from some wild tangent like Rush was great at.
