I live in the Cleveland media area, and
have heard nothing in the local news about this case. Usually they are all over such stories. There has got to be more to it.
Nope. Sounds like exactly what it is, a serious case of “pick up that can” by the “law enforcement”.
Fire them both, give the real victim a nice pay day. Let the two ex-cops find work they are more temperamentally suited for. Like garbage collection.
While I agree, based upon the no action taken by the Supremes, I’d be surprised that the local DA doesn’t reinstate the charges against the guy since the guy did resist arrest. It would only make sense in this today’s world.
How dare he act like a free man on his own property.
“How dare he act like a free man on his own property.”
Sorry, my days of defending BLM types are OVER.
“He resisted, so he did have other options.”
Two unidentified guys come up to your house and start handcuffing you are you going along?
If the issue went down as stated, BLM had nothing to do with it.
Qualified Immunity my butt.Misuse of force and Police Brutality is more like it.Though I’d like to see more about the story to make a decision on it.
“If the issue went down as stated, BLM had nothing to do with it.”
Sorry, they overplayed their hand with me, I’m with the cops in ANY interracial conflict. If not ‘officially’ part of BLM, they are in spirit, and they might as well be subject to the same ‘guilt-by-race’ crap that whites have to now deal with.
“Two unidentified guys come up to your house and start handcuffing you are you going along?”
...and you really think they didn’t properly identify themselves?
“...and you really think they didn’t properly identify themselves?”
20 years ago I would have said no. Ruby Ridge, Waco, the IRS, Comey, Hillary, Hunter have changed my view. They did drop the charges or resisting arrest.
The cops repeatedly say that they thought the house was vacant and that’s why they approached the man. When he objected, they took him down and handcuffed him. That’s when his mother came out of the house. At that second, they knew that he lived and and they should have backed off and apologized. Instead he spent a weekend in jail before charges were dropped, which the cops basically say they did out of the goodness of their hearts.
Thank you, unfortunately almost no one will look because they are not interested in the big picture.
“... Circuit Judge Amul Thapar wrote: “’Clearly established’ means that the law is so clear at the time of the incident that every reasonable officer would understand the unlawfulness of his conduct. To avoid ‘paralysis by analysis,’ qualified immunity protects all but plainly incompetent officers or those who knowingly violate the law.”

Here’s how any SOB on the police force can easily “understand the unlawfulness of his conduct”: if they would arrest someone committing the exact same act if they weren’t an officer, then it is unlawful and they shouldn’t do it. Walking up to someone around clocking them because they mouthed off to you because you were bothering them is clearly NOT lawful.
I back the Blue - when they act lawfully and decently toward the citizens whom they serve, not when they act like a bunch of thugs.
So you think this is the first time someone has been beaten up by cops for standing on his own front porch?
In racially charged cases like this the false accusation rate is probably 90%...which is why I would need some damn good proof before every taking the BLM side of the story.
I see.
So, “ANY”, even when the cops are wrong.
I am so glad to know you have been open and honest enough to out yourself.
FRegards.
Looks like basically the same story to me. I still don’t see why they continued to arrest the guy once his mother told them he was her son and that he lived there. If they didn’t believe her they could have arrested her too. This looks like total police tyranny to me.
Yep, you are right because what they have now is a “license” to do Whatever that want to anyone in the populace!!!
Because the “supreme” court of the US are TYRANTS also!!
