Just a year after I moved to the land of direct democracy in 2002, Gov. Gray Davis was unceremoniously booted out of office in a recall election that was more like a carnival sideshow than an exercise in self-government. On Oct. 7, 2003, California voters were asked not just whether they wanted to remove Davis — but which of 135 candidates on the ballot they thought should replace him.
Among those vying to succeed him were a former child actor, a pornographer, a sumo wrestler, an action hero, a couple of college students and some not terribly popular politicians. The action hero won, though he drew less than 50% of the vote in the crowded field.
It was not an inspiring moment for democracy.

Ahnold is coming back.
The author’s opinion is pure Democrat shill.
I’ll be baaaack. Get to the choppa, Billy!! What happened to Billy?
He didn’t make it.
The action hero + the republican(McLintock) together got 60% of the vote.
I prefer the circus to the alternative.
Sheesh and i just happen to be having a “Burial” with my steak dinner. 10% IPA

What a coincidence
His replacement will be just as bad, but it’ll slow them down a little.
“I let him go.”
“It was not an inspiring moment for democracy.”
But, it was a perfect image of what has happened to the state I was born in. A freaking clown show of corruption and democrat stupidity.
Taking him out would keep him away from the WH.
Nice!
Prediction: he’ll be reelected
Don’t care.
I want to ruin Gavin’s 2024 ambitions.
He has put so many friends out of business, on the dole and reduced incomes in the service industries by 70-90%
My personal income is down 70% and I can’t seem to get it back up, even though I am putting amazing numbers on the board, as my customers order once and then under utterances and orders from the King they go home and don’t order again.
KcuF this guy!
I live in a state that is bluer than yours, but my heart goes out to my fellow conservatives in California.
How to stay civil...how to stay civil...aww, screw that.
KcuF this guy.
Oh, and just came from a client who was suppose to take our services in the financial district
“Hey, when do they take occupancy?” I asked
“They are taking occupancy on April 1st. but, they won’t physically return until September” the Project Manager informed me.
3rd time I heard that in two weeks.
That means all the little children out their with stupid dreams of everything returning or getting back to normal this fall don’t read the news and don’t understand what is going on.
I have so many clients in the financial district who have said when they are “allowed” to return it will only be at 10-25% capacity.
When the lease runs out they will move out of the city or get smaller office space.
Thing is the state and county are going to have sell everyone on why they are reversing work restrictions, which I’m sure will come all kinds of caveats.
Then I don’t know how they are going to unring the bell they ring everyday keeping people and children in fear of each other.
I have many clients who think it will just be safe to work from home even after this.
I mean, I see sohhhh many people screaming at the sky these days, because the sane people are not there.
I would not want a woman to walk the streets alone to her car, office or to get a cup of coffee.
San Francisco is going to go FUBAR because this horse crap will go on nearly two years and while 55% of small businesses have already collapsed, maybe if the city and state works real hard at it they can push it to 80%.
Good Job Gavin Newsom and Mayor-ette London Breed
Zactly
I know the Kanye West POTUS run didn’t work too well, but could he be a contenduh in California?
