No doubt on this.

I’m hearing B. Gates now owns a significant amount of CONUS land.

Speaking truth to power.

No doubt some will seek to assert the mythology of the noble savage is true.

“I acknowledge that we are on the ancestral homelands of the Nacotchtank, Anacostan, and Piscataway people.”

Then why don't you lead the way by ceding your family home back to the Indian tribe that "owned" the land. You first. Which tribe gets the deed to your home?

Then you can go to Europe and scream about Muslims colonizing land that rightfully belongs to the indigenous peoples of the countries there.

Typical leftist hypocrite.

Great article. Long before the French were exploring the upper Midwest, the natives here were beating the hell out of each other as the battered skulls in mass graves attest.

Let's impose a voluntary program by which those Americans feeling guilty about being on stolen lands can give up their homes, properties, possessions to an American Indian family of their choosing. Do the same with slavery reparations too.

Yeah, I don't see a lot of takers because we know these leftists are as phony as their ideas.

The use of the word “racist” disqualifies ANY post or article from consideration, regardless of how good it is otherwise.

There was ZERO reason to use the word other than to virtue signal, and to perpetuate, validate and confirm the totally bogus issue of “racism.”

Just another example of how clueless our side is. Or deliberately corrupt. Who knows? Maybe the whole point of the article was in perpetuating “racism” as a valid issue. Whoever wrote the headline certainly thought that was the main point.

In Europe, the history of various tribal movements has been documented. The Celts moved out of the NW Austrian Alps and progressed westward through Europe along the northern frontier of the Alps.

All of my German ancestral villages at one time had Celts living there. This includes Luxembourg and the Netherland and Belgium. After the Celta came other tribes and the Vikings overran many parts of northern Europe and along the river routes all the way to the Black Sea. But, nothing remains forever and eventually they too were replaced.

Trying to declare some lands as belonging to one tribe or the other is useless. Perhaps the only logical case was that of Israel as there are written records of them being forced out of their ancestral lands - as far back as 3000-4000 years ago.

Well, I acknowledge that I am on the ancestral homeland of the Single Cell Amoeba.

“...ancestral homelands of the Nacotchtank, Anacostan, and Piscataway people.” And probably of other tribes before those named raided, enslaved and wiped them out.

The whole ‘indian nations’ thing is a legal fiction that we’d do well to abandon completely.

Undoubtedly, European advancements into American Indian lands were often violent, rapacious, and unjust.

Why is it that when the Pawnee take the Black Hills from the Kiowa, or the Sioux take the Black Hills from the Pawnee, that's in the natural order of things, but when the White Man takes the Black Hills from the Sioux, that's a heinous crime.

My ancestors were the Huron, and it was not the White Man who decimated them and drove them from their lands, it was those damned Iroquois.

Jefferson told Lewis and Clark to encourage the Indian tribes to keep peace with each other. One tribal leader they encountered objected: "If we don't fight wars, we won't know who to pick for our chiefs."

In all of the Indian wars, there were some Indians fighting on the side of the US Army (against their traditional enemies).
