I’ll never get an older dog again.
The dogs put up for adoption are screened to eliminate aggressive behavior towards kids and small critters like cats. Our greyhound isn’t fond of kids, but she isn’t aggressive towards them, just backs away.
I’d never find one out here and never liked the looks of them. No purpose for me either. My dogs have had purpose. Guard dogs basically and also pets. We need a new family guard dog and I wouldn’t mind replacing the livestock guardian dog at some point. Get a young one and make sure it’s good with us and then let the older one teach it because he is good at his job, even if un-socialized with humans.
