Levin has his own radio station, but most of the time he is yelling. Hannity isn’t even close. He is boring and repetitive and just interviews corrupt RINOs who he swears we have to vote for them or referees arguments. Neither have the insite or the entertainment value as Rush.
Rush is gone. But the talent God loaned Rush is eternal. And will be loaned again as He sees fit.
There is no one who could ever duplicate what Rush did so it wouldn’t have mattered if he groomed a successor or not. He helped launch the radio careers of conservative talkers all over the country, and it’s from listening to some of their shows that I know Rush’s spirit lives on.
It’s still very surreal. When I hear the music it seems like everything is normal, but then Rush isn’t there. Ever again. Truly grieving.
I just wanted to say that it’s difficult sometimes to understand how cancer works. There is always could have, would have, should have. Maybe there would have been early detection if Rush had had CT’s earlier, but maybe not. There is always a risk with CT radiation to actually increase the chances of cancer.
I’m not saying it’s victim blaming, but most people do the best they can and when the worst happens, all you can do is support them. In this case, the memories of Rush and all he accomplished is enough. God bless him, and his family and all who knew him as we continue to walk through this tremendous loss.
I like Steyn, and I always liked Walter E. Williams when he filled in. Mostly, the rest of the fill-ins are standard talk-radio fare. They’re fine, but they’re nowhere near Rush. They’re not bad, though.
Next thing I know he refers me to a Hematologist. Found out he was actually a Hematologist / Oncologist.
Turns out I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Probably had it for two years until I noticed anything. Cancer can sneak up on you, even when you get yearly Physicals.
So glad that you were diagnosed, and sounds like in good health now.
Doctors are fallible. Tests are sometimes inconclusive. Symptoms that are not dramatic can be ignored. People who don’t smoke get lung cancer and die.
The point is that we can’t blame the victim/patient. Maybe it makes the blamer feel better (invincible?). But ultimately, even they (or someone they care deeply about) may be faced with a life threatening issue out of the blue. And they won’t want someone second guessing their proactiveness.....
hannity is a clown and he constantly plays the victim....don’t tell your neighbors you know me, they’ll never speak to you again, don’t tell anyone I was in your bar, you’ll get closed down, whoa is me....I can only take about 2 minutes of his radio show especially when he has guests debate, it’s nothing but a screaming fest with the guests yelling over each other.
BBL...
Thank you for the ping, Biggirl. We must continue the tradition as long as we can. For Rush.
Gosh I miss him. Would have loved to hear his thoughts on this Oprah/Meghan/Harry lovefest.
Sorry gang, these shows have become unlistenable.
I’m beginning to agree. Besides, where is Mark! I always did look forward to his take on things.
Tue March 9, is that Todd today? I hear him talking up the Fox News show about Rush .... “great people like Mike Pence” ????
Seriously, Todd? (Todd?)
Fox News using the death of Rush to try and get back viewers. Lying scumbags. I haven’t tuned in to Fox in over a decade.
Somebody tell Fox and Todd and Kathryn that this pig just is not going to fly. Frankly, makes me pretty skeptical of the widow, if she is on board with this.
Fox is not the keeper of Rush’s flame, and Rush’s devotees are not sheep to be led around. May as well be on CNN.
How many of us will not watch any one minute of the 4 parts of this side show money grab? I will not. I don’t need the liars at Fox to tell me who Rush was.
I’m slowly getting there, too.
“Sorry gang, these shows have become unlistenable.”
Excruciating needle to thread.
When Katherine announced a virtual memorial in “maybe even a month” and guest hosts kept saying Rush will be with us on the EIB “long into the future.” Well..., it seemed a temporary stop-gap.
I cannot fathom there isn’t a plan in place, but perhaps not. Radio stations that carrying Rush Legacy Live will get increasingly nervous.
Excruciating needle to thread...and I have no suggestions.
Prayers for Kathryn as she mourns her deep personal loss and navigates Rush’ legacy.
We are certainly finding out that what we all knew was true after all: there is no substitute for the real Rush Limbaugh Show. And there never will be.
And it is dang heartbreaking.
The real heartbreaking thing is they’re trying to string Rush’s shows and quotes out for months or longer.
It ought to be ended, now that he’s At Rest, and a new show put into the 12-3p slot. With no comparisons to Rush; that wouldn’t be fair.
I vote for Chris Plante, WMAL-105.9 FM in DC.
I would love for Chris Plante to take Rush’s place.
I also love Mark Steyn even though some here don’t like him.
But if you haven’t listened to The Derek Hunter Show, he’s a 9.5 if CP is a 10.

You said Rush wasted his legacy because he got cancer and knowing how bad it was he should have created a person to take his place. That’s not how it works. There wasn’t enough time and not anyone to groom. Rush cannot be replaced. The hosts that he helped that were any good are on their own shows now. Those two are the #2 and #3 so that pretty well done on his part whether you like them or not.
