China’s foreign minister warned the Biden administration on Sunday to roll back former President Donald Trump’s “dangerous practice” of showing support for Taiwan, the island democracy claimed by Beijing as its own territory.
The claim to Taiwan, which split with the mainland in 1949, is an “insurmountable red line,” Wang Yi said at a news conference during the annual meeting of China’s ceremonial legislature.
The United States has no official relations with Taiwan but extensive informal ties. Trump irked Beijing by sending Cabinet officials to visit Taiwan in a show of support.
“The Chinese government has no room for compromise,” Wang said.
“We urge the new U.S. administration to fully understand the high sensitivity of the Taiwan issue” and “completely change the previous administration’s dangerous practices of ‘crossing the line’ and ‘playing with fire,’” he said.

With the Chance that Trump or DeSantis might become POTUS in Jan 2014, (slim, but a chance), I think the ChiComs will attack Taiwan pretty soon.

I don’t think they’re that foolish.
An invasion of Taiwan would have to be on a D Day scale and China cannot move that much equipment and men across the strait in a coordinated, effective fashion.
They’ve never done anything like it before and have zero institutional knowledge.
Look for blockade and embargo. Maybe a few missile volleys.
It’s their only option, really.
The PLA Navy is larger than the USN and is purpose built to extend China’s influence. I doubt they’ll miss this incredible window of opportunity when they have a US President in their pocket.
The United States will abandon honor when it greenlights the Chicom blockade or invasion of Taiwan and other territorial conquests.
Obiden’s Chicom sympathizers will figure out a way to deflect blame on Trump and the media will lap it up like the Russia collusion hoax.
