It’s really not any more complicated than that. Trump is a throwback to a time when the elites were like everybody else, they just had more money. It’s not like that anymore. A one percenter and a middle-class man had a lot more in common in 1965 than they do now.
Trump gained share in virtually every category and still lost.

The working class has, over the last several decades, freed their minds from the garbage taught in public schools and propagandized in the media, and figured out that:
a) A robust economy is necessary to them having a job, getting raises and having a secure retirement;
b) The Democrat Party, with its distinct (and increasing) bias to the Left (or even outright Communism/Socialism) is not the party that understands economics;
c) The Democrat Party has fully caved to the immigration lobby in an effort to attain and maintain permanent power, and the influx of millions of unskilled or semi-skilled immigrants has completely undercut the ability of blue collar workers to get decent-paying jobs;
d) The globalists of both parties are not working for them - on the contrary, they are working diligently to destroy them and their hopes for a better future, and lining their pockets with foreign money to boot; and
e) The Republican Party does understand economics, and though it has its share of globalists, it certainly says and does more to benefit American citizens and workers before or instead of foreigners. Also, the Republicans are not all rich, cigar-chomping, country club members intent upon keeping labor poor, despite the image created in the media over more than a century at the behest of the Democrat Party.
IOW, the average blue collar worker isn’t stupid enough to swallow the Dem and media image of the two parties, because the reality is not just incredibly different, it is quite plain and open for anyone to see.
Yet the AFL-CIO was at the heart of the steal.
Union members need to have a come to Jesus meeting with their union reps.
The party that refuses to criticize Antifa and Black Lives Matter comes with a huge price tag.
Socialism in the last link in the chain of thought.
The Dem party is the party of homosexuals, soy boys, the woke, domineering women, no humor, tyrannical, and depressed.
Are people waking up to it? One can only hope.
