An itchy rash may be a side effect of receiving the Moderna vaccine, doctors said.
About 12 recipients in a 30,000-person trial have seen their arms turn red, sore, itchy or swollen about a week after receiving the first dose, according to a letter from doctors published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Five of the patients had large skin lesions more than 10 centimeters (4 inches) in diameter at the injection site, the letter said. Two experienced the rash in other places, such as near the elbow and on the palm of the hand.

That sounds more like shingles.
About ten days after my first Moderna shot, the injection site became sore again, for about four days. I got my second shot on the 24th, so we’ll see what happens this time.
I have heard of delayed allergic reactions like that.
A friend’s daughter was on sulfa drugs for an infection.
A week after she had finished the course of sulfa, she broke out with a bad case of hives. They went to the ER and the folks there told her that sometimes that happens and not to take that again.
Merck has a history with problem medications.
I would not want to take anything that Merck puts out.
Vomiting can also be an allergic reaction.
Your body is getting rid of it for you.
Mussels are something not real high on my *can’t live without it list*.
For what age group?
You do realize the mortality rate increases with age and that is not an overall number, don’t you?
Also, obesity, which is controllable, is another factor. There are things people can do to increase their chances of surviving it.
Why send to me?
Yes, someone told me an anecdotal story about Merck- reactions, denial of liability, and then ultimately a black box warning on the drug.
I now view everything from the medical community with a distrustful eye for more than one reason.
Got a fever and muscle aches which started the next morning after the vaccine.
They can be treated effectively with extra strength Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I recommend extra strength. Decongestants, for some reason, were necessary for a day.
All symptoms are gone now.
I basically felt tired and sick for one day. Its all clear now.
Vioxx was their biggie, but not their only one.
I’m with you on that one, and that is no reflection on some of the wonderful, common sense doctors I’ve had the privilege of seeing but they are few and far between.
And I absolutely do NOT truth the pharm industry or the FDA.
Actually, running a fever is good for you.
I did some research on it and found this article, which explains it in everyday English.
Should You Treat A Fever?

I recently received the Moderna vaccine. The other night, while laying on the couch, I had this painful muscle cramp. I guess that was a reaction to the vaccine. I see no other reason.
Boy, are we glad that they determined this before the mass inoculations began!
Regards,
So would I - as long as I'm not the one getting the rash!
Heck, 12 out of 30,000 could become sterile, or go completely bald, and I would consider that "acceptable."
Regards,
Oh, that’s nasty.......
That’s the allergic reaction to the vaccine.
Was in a room full of people who got the vaccine. Not one of them had any problems, except for some hot flashes from one lady.
skin rash? that’s it? ok give me one!!!! (sarc)
Moderna is the worst vaccine to get. No easy spotless I take that one.
J&J would be my preferred one if I were to take an EXPERIMENTAL vaccine.
