I am seriously considering cancelling my subscription to National Review. When President Trump started his 2016 campaign for president, NR ran an issue with candidate Trump on the front cover titled “Philosophically Unmoored.” Before primaries occurred in California, I changed my registration from independent to republican in order to vote against him. Never happened, done deal before CA came up to vote. But, I would have been very wrong to vote against him. Had I done so and prevailed, a RINO would have run against Hillary and lost, and subsequently no Trump legacy.
I say NR is Philosophically Moored to standards and dreams that will never be fulfilled. What the hell good is that? President Trump was not from the swamp, and that is why all these RINOS hated him and despised him.

I dumped NR as well as the Atlantic a number of years ago. Replaced with Spectator, Chronicles, City Journal, and First Things. Better writing and broader deeper thinking.
