Fauci on FL Outperforming States with Strict Restrictions: DeSantis Did Some Things Right, Some City and County Actions ‘Did Work’
Breitbart ^ | March 03 2021 | IAN HANCHETT

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci responded to a question on Florida having a lower coronavirus death rate than states that had far stricter restrictions by stating that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) did some things right, but also that DeSantis did some things that he didn’t agree with. When Fauci was pressed for more detail he said, “some of the things that were done down there by people at the local level really actually did work.”

Host Erin Burnett asked, “In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis, as you know, right, long opposed to mask mandates, lockdowns of any sort, school closures. But what’s interesting about Florida, and I wanted to give you a chance to talk about this, because Florida ranks 27th in the nation for per capita deaths from the virus. Some states that shut down, obviously, and had all those mandates, New York, Michigan, Massachusetts all have higher death rates. Do you think it’s possible, when you look back on this, that it may be that DeSantis did some things right?”

if you get thru the bs statistics... death rates are very similar to the flu.

total deaths are in line with previous years.

in other words, there’s no reason this virus should be treated any different than other viruses.

which is pretty much how it’s been treated in florida

We closed down because we had the technology sufficiently available to reasonably facilitate commerce. Electronic payments, product and food delivery, online work, online school . . . because all these things currently exist, our government could entertain an option any former government would find absurd.

In their effort to punish the angry orange president, democrats have purge their cities of suburban visitors and workers. Why would a company locate in expensive city real estate when they have learned to carry on operations online? Who needs to visit a restaurant at lunch, or shop for a present, or visit a museum, or attend a sports event? We’re importing more low wage workers now for jobs that will never return. What an ucking mess they’ve made of my country.

Why? Look at the free COVID money coming their way. How many diollars in the last 12 months. There are large churches in my rural area getting paid millions to stay closed. My church is open & doing it the hard way. It pays $$$ to comply. That’s the Marxist way.

I swear he has said in the past how bad FL was now suddenly FL is good without mask mandates and lock downs. I’m wondering if he will change his mind again and say we don’t need masks as much and need to fully open ASAP.

It must have chocked him to admit someone did something right...

He’s usually the only one who is ‘right’....

Makes Fauci the arbiter of who did what right or wrong?

A real news organization would ask the question this way:

Clearly Florida got better results without the strict lockdowns, mandates and/or school closures used in other states that you have also advocated. Many may look at this and say Florida got it right, and you and those other states that followed your advice got it wrong.

What would be your response to that?

I seem to recall when Gov DeSantis first lifted the COVID restrictions, all you heard from the media were "Florida is spiking, Florida is spiking!".

And one of the leaders in this propaganda was Erin Burnett's CNN.

DeSantis did pretty good protecting the elderly. And not allowing it to spread to rest homes. People were pissed when they couldn’t see there loved ones for a bit, but it worked. Common sense. Shut it down but opened it up quickly. The spike a few months ago had to do with the flu season.

““some of the things that were done down there by people at the local level really actually did work.”

We had sense enough back in March 2020 to go back to work after a unnecessary 4 week shutdown.

I have 40 to 50+ people here every day in very close proximity to each other. No masks, nobody been sick.

We are not going to participate in any unnecessary mad scientist medical experiments either.

Have a great day.

“some of the things that were done down there by people at the local level really actually did work."

i.e. in spite of the Governor.

Fauci can't say something about his political opposition without some sort of backhanded insult. The man is a piece of sh*t.
