Democrats pushed their H.R. 1 “For the People Act” to the House floor on March 2, while allowing consideration of only a handful of Republican amendments and after only a single perfunctory committee hearing.
The (massive proposal) of nearly 800 pages would make federal laws out of many of the most controversial 2020 presidential election voter registration and voting procedures—measures that were originally implemented by state officials in response to the (CCP virus) pandemic and national lockdown. The virus is also known as the novel coronavirus.
[snip]Among the most hotly contested provisions of H.R.1 are those providing universal national mail-in balloting, registration of 16- and 17-year-olds, permanent early voting, minimal verification for online registration, legalization of ballot harvesting, federal matching funds to candidates for private contributions, and voting rights for felons upon completion of their sentences.
Tearing up the social contract...
Laws in a free society aren’t obeyed because of force or authority but because of shared conscience.
Ramrodding legislation like this, not written in a shared manner (like Obamacare) is uncouth and evil.
For The People’s Republic???
“...in a downright despotism opposition is dangerous whether the despotism is official or whether it is unofficial...”
“A community rates low on the ‘Information’ scale when the press, radio, and other channels of communication are controlled by only a few people and when citizens have to accept what they are told.”
“See how a community trains its teachers”
“...these students are being taught to accept uncritically whatever they are told. Questions are not encouraged.”
“And if books and newspapers and the radio [and facebook and youtube and...] are officially controlled the people will read and accept exactly what the few in control want them to. Government censorship is one form of control. The newspaper that breaks the government censorship rule can be suspended. It is also possible for newspapers and other lines of communication to be controlled by private interests...”

Newspaper checks.
1. Balance of coverage
2. Disclosure of source
3. Competence of staff
should be called the “grab your ankles act”
That thing will end up in SCOTUS
They have say in state elections, constitutionally...
Who friggin’ named it? John Morgan?
I pray we are not left to rely on Roberts and his cohorts.
Zero out of three is the new standard.
Vote expansion = mass mobilization
It means war.
The suffragettes were propped up artificially during Wilson’s war mobilization efforts.
If 16-17 year olds are smart enough to vote, then they are smart enough to get off of their parent’s medical insurance and obtain it own their own.
I’ve heard rumblings about certain groups who are talking about serious action if this monstrosity passes and gets signed.

Bad news if it ever gets to the Scrotus. The five non-conservatives are seriously compromised, based on their inane recent decisions.
bkmk
The biggest problem with the bill isn’t that it lets indoctrinated kiddies vote, it’s that the feds want to ban states from having voter ID or signature matching, thereby preventing any verification of the person who’s voting. In other words, it codifies nationally that voter fraud is permitted; no checks can be made to stop people voting with other people’s ballots, non-citizens from voting, people who don’t live there voting, people buying ballots from others, etc. And of course it mandates that felons must be given the right to vote regardless of state laws.
It’s the sort of bill that all authoritarian governments eventually implement.
Before the American Revolution the British passed what were then called the intolerable acts. This is the ‘Seal the Steal’ act and even worse then what the British did. Talk about taxation without Representation !
This bill is unconstitutional states are responsible for their elections, this should be brought before SCOTUS it is the federal government REALLY OVERREACHING!! The SCOTUS is really starting to scare me Gorsuch seems to be a good pick BUT Kavanaugh was not worth the fight we had to place him!! Amy is a HUGE disappointment!!
