Ranked choice absolutely will help any incumbent. And it will especially help these so-called moderates.
If this garbage somehow become law and isn’t overturned and I have to use it, I plan to write my #1 choice only, and then write something along the lines of:
#1 - Candidate
#2 - No
#3 - One
#4 - Else
It is an utter disaster.
It prevents clear winners and losers.
In some New Zealand elections, the results are not known for weeks... oh, kind of like what happened in the last American election.
The more complicated and convoluted the system, the more it favors the Media and the Establishment.
Implement a system to pay the money for runoffs when no candidate gets a majority vote. It is quite simple. It is odd that Alaska passed this because last year even Massachusetts had the good sense to reject this nutty idea and California tried and discarded it as well.
