Former President Donald Trump’s tax returns and underlying tax documents are now in the hands of Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance.
The subpoena for Trump’s tax documents from Mazars USA was enforced on Monday and Vance’s office now has them, a spokesperson for Vance’s office, Danny Frost, told NBC News on Thursday.
The subpoena was enforced after the Supreme Court declined on Monday to stop their production following an emergency application from Trump’s attorneys.
In that ruling Monday, the high court declined to block a New York grand jury from getting Trump's personal and corporate tax returns, a decisive defeat in his long legal battle to keep his tax records out of investigators' hands.
The ruling doesn't mean the returns will become public any time soon, and they might never be publicly released. Under New York state law, materials turned over to a grand jury must be kept secret.
But Vance has now compelled Trump's accountants to turn over the records that Trump has steadfastly refused to surrender to prosecutors or Congress.
Vance was seeking tax returns covering eight years for a grand jury investigation of hush money payments and other financial transactions. The investigation began after it was disclosed that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about her claim that she had an affair with Trump, an allegation he has denied.
Cohen also alleged to Congress that the Trump Organization sometimes lied about its financial condition to evade taxes or obtain favorable loan terms.

It’s unlikely that the “Trump Organization” (whatever that means) outsources their tax returns. I’d guess that they have an in-house tax department that prepares the company returns. That’s why I repeatedly ask, what are we talking about when we say they have “Trumps Taxes”.

Business = practically an audit is required to decipher it.

The reports I’ve seen indicates that Mazars USA is the accounting firm for the Trump Organization that was served with the original subpoena.

Make Vance wait. Make Vance come knock on your door. Make Vance bring the police with him. The accountants should have used every avenue to delay.
Why give in so fast?
Yeah, that’s a big multi-national firm that I’ve worked with in the past. They will abide by all the professional ethics established by IFRS, GAAP, the FASB, the AICPA etc...
They risk their own business by not following the tax laws - especially in the global environment when things like BEPS, BEAT, Transfer Pricing and APA’s are becoming hot button items for the various countries.
Tell me about it, the hypocrisy is on steroids here. “Oh Joe just takes bribes ho hum” Or how about Pelosi exposed last month trading on insider info AGAIN even though it’s now illegal due to the 2012 stock act which OBAMA signed into law. And then we have the Clinton criminal cartel, it’s astounding how nothing happens to these asswads despite the evidence but Trump, where there is no probable cause, not even a hint of a crime committed (the IRS has no issue with his tax returns) HE gets his ass investigated off.

None of know the behind the scenes reasons.....for this, or anything political going on, these days.

Selective prosecution this would get thrown out of court
If there was anything there it would have been leaked long ago so I think they will alter the returns
Bring all the tax returns together, take the papers out of the binders, shuffle them about 10 times, put them in card board boxes and deliver.
What they're looking for, as far as I've read, is to see if he's claiming a high valuation on his properties for when he tries to use them as loan collateral, then turning around and claiming a low valuation for tax purposes, which they're saying would be fraud, either against the government or the lenders, especially if he's showing different numbers for the revenue on the properties.
And how long before the details leak?

Disgraceful. #1 Tax returns are sacred because they FORCE citizens to reveal everything about private business matters. Things if known by competitors could place them at a disadvantage. #2 This is a fishing expedition. All returns for 8 years? Overbroad. #3. And it was decided by the Supreme Court, supposedly above politics and personal vendetta. But we know CJ Roberts hates Trump because he has criticized the court. This is Judge Roy Bean tactics. #4. All 3 of Trump’s appointees went against him. They are cowards. Afraid Schumer and Biden will “pack” the court and dump them into a minority so they cover their own butts.
