Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving isn’t afraid to speak his mind. And like many others across the league, Irving wants to see change when it comes to the NBA logo. Los Angeles Lakers legend Jerry West has been the symbol of the league since 1969, but Irving believes that the league should do whatever it takes to make the late Kobe Bryant the new logo. "Gotta Happen," Irving wrote on his Instagram. "Idc what anyone says. BLACK KINGS BUILT THE LEAGUE."
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told TMZ Sports that he’s on board with changing the NBA logo to Bryant. He said that he "would support it."
"I just think it's so much more than basketball," Cuban told TMZ. "He brought so many people together."
Even though West is considered to be the NBA’s logo, the league never admitted that it featured a specific player. Sources familiar with the league told Yahoo Sports that there is no interest in having an individual player as its logo because there are so many who have been instrumental in the growth of the NBA.

This is the point where soccer starts to emerge, and the NBA is set to downsize over the next decade.
Too bad it was invented by a white guy and up until the 60’s was a white dominated sport.as far as I’m concerned, kill it!
Now I’ve got to sell his cards. What a dumbass and racist!
95 percent of the stoopids attending NBA games are white.
Keep disparaging your audience and eventually they will walk away.
I know I have.
It misspelled kangs!
Sorry, Kang!
Shouldn't that be "Black KANGS?"
Regards,
Me too. I haven’t watched professional sports in at least 5 years. I’m a patriotic sort of fellow to say it mildly and I don’t like people bashing my country or accusing me of being a racist.
Why is anyone still watching basketball? The players hate your existence and you’re making them rich. Put the junk food down, get out of the recliner and improve your life. Get some exercise, start a SHTF vegetable garden, have sex with your wife, repair your house, make a budget so you can live better.
“Black Kings?” Is that a Chicago street gang?
Seriously though.. changing the logo won’t do anything to improve the declining quality of NBA basketball.
The NBA will cave on this issue. Woke Corporate America has become superlatively cowardly.
Sounds great until someone brings up his alleged rape.
It’s Kangz!
Z makes it more “street”.
Nom’ sayin’?
The basketball player is objecting to the NBA have any recognition of white people. Jerry West didn’t own slaves and he wasn’t evena Confederate (West Virginia seceded from Virginia when that state seceded from the Union). But, he was white. Still is, probably.
As it is, the NBA has a mix of people that it recognizes; these include:
Bill Russell Award - MVP of NBA Finals
Kobe Bryant Award - MVP of NBA All-Star Game
Joe Dumars Award - for sportsmanship
Any player (whatever his color) receiving these awards should feel honored to be associated with these named greats of the NBA and the entire history of the league.
Other named-awards reflect the history of the league. Of course, history is another thing the anti-Americans hate. The idea that America is what it is today because it has been shaped by 200+ years of history, including civil rights history, is nothing to the haters. Perfection is the standard by which they judge others. And, hating white people and America is their virtue.
In the meanwhile, they excuse men of their color who father children outside of marriage, leaving the mothers to go on welfare; they squander the millions of dollars they earn; and, they justify corrupt black politicians and all kinds of black crime from shoplifting to looting to rape and murder.
This isn’t just hate and racist, it is dysfunctional to the point of genocide. It killed the black family, the black community, millions of black babies, and millions of young black Americans who could have had happy and productive lives.
Who cares about the NBA? “Get the coconut out of the tree, put the coconut back in the tree”
I hear ya, but as a whiteboy, what can I say?
Not sorry.
:)
And “sports” continues its decline into irrelevancy.
Good riddance to all of it.

This guy is such a joke...
