An estimated 5.6 percent of Americans identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, according to a new Gallup report. That’s up from 4.5 percent in 2017, the last year polling on the issue was conducted by the organization.
Of those surveyed who identified as LGBTQ, 54.6 percent identified as bisexual, 24.5 percent as gay, 11.7 percent as lesbians, 11.3 percent as transgender and 3.3 percent said they used another term to describe their identity (i.e. queer or same-gender loving). The total exceeds 100 percent because respondents were able to choose more than one category.
The results were based on more than 15,000 interviews conducted with adults 18 and older throughout 2020.
The percent of Americans who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer increased 60 percent between 2012 and 2020, according to Gallup.
Younger Americans are increasingly likely to consider themselves part of the LGBTQ community: Nearly 16 percent of Generation Z, those 18 to 23 in 2020, consider themselves something other than heterosexual. That compares to just 2 percent of Americans 56 and older.

Again, you’re still missing the point. It’s not a crime for me to “love” adultery, gambling, drunkeness, lying, homosexuality, bisexuality, sexual attraction to under age youth. None of those are crimes of man in many places.
The two people you describe as having a cute little “tree house...on a bluff” are not merely asking society to grudgingly tolerate them. IF that were the goal of same-sex movement, then conservatives woud NOT be anywhere near boiling point like they are now. But that is decidedly NOT the goal of the same-sex validation movement. The goal is to be seen as equal to heterosexual relations in validity. This is a position that will NEVER be accepted by the vast majority of humanity.
And you Spectrum analogy is a bad one. A spectrum implies a much more equal distribution of feelings/opinions along its length. Even with the massive indoctrination that’s been going on for decades, only a small fraction of people identify as non-heterosexuals. That’s not much of a “Spectrum”.
Where you are missing the point is your fixation on a “movement”.
My POV is centered around two girls or boys falling in love. Nothing political. No movement. No criminal activity.
I’m not selling the “spectrum”. God invented it.
Focus on that and revise.

The fact that homosexual orientation exists does NOT logically infer that it should be validated, edorsed, and practiced. Just like the fact that adulterers, alcoholics, and gamblers (just to name a few) exists does not validate their existence, nor does it mean they should be encouraged.
I suggest you revise based on that truth.

Where in the Bible does it say you can’t love someone of the same sex?
Why is it people born into this life, must necessarily suffer for being exactly as God made them?

As I said in most Western countries homosexuality is not a “crime of man”, but the standard for human society is well below that of A Christian, Muslim, or Hebrew conception of God. I mention this because I do not want you to think it’s just Christianity “piling on”. The condemnation of homosexuality is orthodoxy. There is no way to escape that without radically transforming these faiths into something utterly different from what their founders intended.

There are Qur’anic versus that condemn homosexuality in very strong language as well. You should not have to look very hard to find them.
Now let me also be clear. I work with homosexuals, bisexuals, and transgenders. I have met and interacted cordially with people from many, many different walks of life. There are just as many people on the political LEft where I work as on the political Right. Some of the people I work with are VERY far to the politcial Left. We can argue that God “made these people just as they are”. But I hope you will pause to give this argument of validation some serious thought. You are headed down the path of validating everyone and everything just because it seems “nice” or “kind” or “pleasing” or “loving”. There are many things that we THINK lead to happiness but do not. You must be very careful because many of these things not only do not bring happiness, but they ultimately cause icredibale unhappiness to themselves and to others. Consider for a moment how much misery the whole Woke movement is causing in an attempt to compel others to validate their views? Consider what the whole diverity and inclusion movement must do to indoctrinate the overwhelming majority of people to to beleive (when they clearly do not)?
I’ll address your last question then stop. God created Ghengis Kahn, Joseph Stalin, Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, and Jeffrey Dahmer. Do you want to argue that these men should be allowed to act according to their nature because that’s “how God made them?” I hope not. I’ll even go one step further. Someone can sit in thier house - all alone harming no one else - and drink themselves happily to death. Maybe they just love to party and that’s how they want to live thier life. Do I have to just accept that as good? Should I not confront that person and say something (especially if they are freind or relative)? They could get mad at me if I do that. They might even get VERY mad, but if I love them I’ll do it. Even if I don’t have the courage to do that, at the very least I will NOT encourage their behavior and tell them that they are doing a good thing.
Even if you do not agree with me. I hope that you understand that I am coming from a position of care and consideration...not just someone who likes to run other people down.
Not sinful to love. But there are scriptures which point to God’s disdain for the lust and sexual acts. Even heterosexual fornication is forbidden in the eyes of God. I can look up and post scripture a bit later cause I’m. Babysitting and the little one is cranky .

There was a Male to Female transsexual where I worked back in the 80s. It was a big office and everyone knew about it.
About 10 years ago I did a survey of a data center and a member of the team was a full time transvestite also a FTM. Both were older, I’d say at least in their late 40s or early 50s. This new trend seems to wrecking havoc amongst the young and seems to infect cliques especially young girls.
My niece is “Gender Fluid” which means she hasn’t taken any hormones or had surgery. The hard core wind up mutilating their bodies irreversibly.
You are totally focusing on another point. The issue isn’t God’s love or creation.
The issue is the attorneys forcing perversions on innocent, trusting children and forcing people to accept those perversions under the threat of lawsuits. I’m sure that God doesn’t love them.
Thanks but you’re confusing the topic. I have gay friends and co-workers and they are mostly fine people. That’s not the point here.
The point is being gay is a choice but you suggest they are born that way but pointing to a scale as proof. I disagree. That scale you reference is not scientific evidence of anything and being face to face with a gay person does nothing to prove the claim you made. The gay men I know say they chose the lifestyle so there is that.
The truth is this issue has been studied, and many conclude there is no gay gene that can accurately predict because most if not all of the preference is caused by environmental factors.
I think you’re confusing preference with being gay when reference to that scale. I agree there are men who are effeminate and women who are like me but that does not make them gay.

I believe mny like myself simply do not care about the sexual habits of others. What is detestable is the gays habit of throwing their behavior in everyone’s face. They sometimes take exception to straights “flaunting” their heterosexuality by of all things keeping pics of their wife/husband and family on their desks in the workplace.
My position is I do not care who does what with whom or whatever. Just keep it private and quit whining about any perceived “emotional pain” they claim is being inflicted on them by the awful “breeder” hetero’s.

Tranny has NOTHING to do with gays despite the LGBT nonsense. And the increase is due to mentally ill and insecure young people being convinced by society that they are actually the opposite sex. It’s indoctrination and socisal pressure, not “the shutdown.”
As for bisexuality, it’s popular in the Gen Z group to say that one is bisexual, pan, etc. because young people are told to screw everything they moves. How many have actually had sex with both sexes and enjoyed it is a very different question.
This is our education system at work. Something has to be done.
