“As one moves from the stands to the arena, the perspective on the bull changes,” so goes a Spanish proverb.
I have practiced medicine for more than 50 years. Helping to ease suffering has been my life’s work. I co-founded Hospice Buffalo more than 40 years ago to help patients who were dying, to ensure that their final days, weeks and months could be as comfortable, pain-free and fulfilling as possible.

Grandma’s sick? No problem, Cuomo has a dozen COVID patients lined up to keep her company in her last days.
I've Practiced as an RRT..CPFT in SoCal...and here in OK...for many years...
DNR's are fairly common...Does NOT mean we don't treat..We just don't do CPR..and hook them up to a Vent.
Many people think...a DNR order means we don't do anything.
Hell...I'm a DNR.
But I want bug killer if it is warranted...Everything short of tubing me..and pumping on my chest...
It ain't rocket science...
Morphine was all it took; in the appropriate dose. Addiction is non factor to dying people.
Never took anything stronger than Extra Strength Tylenol. He died at my house....
So there is that........
They don’t want the drain on their funds they can give to the useless
Yeah, New York was the first to legalize the murder of unborn children also.
“Pain management is very effective.”
Try watching a loved one drown in their own blood. Pushing the plunger was an act of mercy.

“The easing of suffering, while promoting patient choice and autonomy, is what I’ve always tried to do. It’s what every good physician I know tries to do.”
Easing suffering is fine and good until it conflicts with the primary goal of medicine, which is to “do no harm”. If you are advocating doing the greatest possible harm you could do to a person in order to “ease their suffering”, then you have gone off the rails somewhere.
When will Trump supporters be put on the list for euthanasia?
“to ensure that their final days, weeks and months could be as comfortable, pain-free and fulfilling as possible.”
Somehow I get the feeling that the point is more to make their final months and weeks only days.
Medical Aid in Dying Can Ease Suffering for Many New Yorkers. That’s Why a Strong Majority of New York Physicians Supports It

Legal History of Abortion (1821 - Present)
You just made that up. It is Not written anywhere in the Bible.
EXODUS 20:13 KJV “Thou shalt not kill.”
All I can say about this is keep the elderly pain free if possible. I watched my beloved former Marine husband suffer with unbelievable agony before he died. I stayed with him through it all. Any other person would have screamed, but he silently sat doubled on the side of his hospital bed, clearly suffering unbearable pain. So, I’m 87 now and healthy as can be, but I stay away from doctors, but if I had pain I would ask for pain relief and no treatment to keep me alive. When you get old your perspective shifts a bit. I believe that the baby killers are on the wrong end of the perspective.
Actually, I was implying that giving medical aid in dying is murder according to the Bible. I know that is not verbatim in the Bible. But, realistically, mine says the same thing. Sorry if you missed that.
Pretty Much. He learned that well from his original associates.
You are just making stuff up as you go along. I’ve read the Bible from cover to cover in two versions and your falsehood is nowhere to be found.
I have no problem giving necessary medications to dying patients to alleviate pain.
Pain relief does not prevent nor prolong the death process.
“I was implying that giving medical aid in dying is murder according to the Bible.”
I guess hospices are just murder factories.
I too have read the Bible multiple times, multiple versions. If you support suicide and murder I suggest you contact your state and federal elected officials and urge them to support such legislation. However, expect opposition from the likes of me. I also urge you to read the proposed legislation.
Hospice does not proactively bring on the death of a patient. This legislation would allow doctors to prescribe medications to do that, in effect legalizing "murder factories." I am all for easing the suffering of terminally ill patients. I, however, am against assisted suicide, which is what this legislation would legalize.
