Is there a special external dedicated outlet you would recommend for an electrician to install for a generator?

Like I said I back feed through the dryer outlet. Cost me about $100 for 50 feet 10gu flex strand four wire and two 30 amp plugs + the the gen set of course. Electricians cost too much for me.
If you are uncomfortable doing this then call and electrician and get your check book out.

Absolutely. That and a UL certified transfer switch. Do it wrong and you can back feed into the power lines and kill someone.
That’s why the dryer trick is dangerous, illegal and stupid.
