“Could some of it be related to economic recovery?”
Multiple factors add up to why energy prices are up.
Coming out of Covid (globally)
Biden’s restrictions on Fracking
The anticipation of enormous deficit spending reducing the dollar (oil is priced in dollars)
Liberals desire to force us away from gasoline vehicles and into electric vehicles.
The TX freeze severely cut back on production, which is 2-4% of global output
$1.66 Election Day
$2.24 Last Week
UP 50 cents a gallon in my area since Dementia Joe stopped the pipeline.

Biden Announces Ambitious Goal Of $100 Per Gallon Gas By End Of First 100 Days In Office (Satire Warning)
You ain't seen nothin', yet.
You beat me to it.
During Obama the media completely ignored inflation and reported falsely about the economy for the whole time.
When will we do something about this media?
Up 35% ($1.999 to $2.699) here.
The ONLY good out of this is the only co-worker who is anti-Trump and probably voted Xiden owns a hot rod, loud, gas-guzzling Mustang that he loves to drive with the gas pedal floored. Asking him how he enjoys the “new normal increasing gas prices” will provide entertainment.
I don’t enjoy it being in Texas, 10 miles from the nearest town, and the majority of our vehicles are V8-powered. ALL of them get fed 93 or better octane.
$3.86 in SoCal today. For a while we were below $3, but it went up pretty fast
When events happen that limit the income state govts can harvest, states need to go on an administrative diet and slash overhead. Instead, they stay focused on 10% increase in staffing per year, along with yearly benefit increases. In California, we have city managers that make more than the president of the US. City managers. Why is that? Because they have the power to tax, whether it be property or gas taxes. The increase in Calif gas prices isn’t supply/demand or even annual refinery overhauls. It’s state greed.
Wow
Caliph Baraq proved if you have a lame enough Republican opponent, you can get re-elected with $4/gal gas.
We’ll see if Kamalamadingdong Devi Gopalan-Harris can repeat the plan.
High gas prices effect everyone and everything, but really hit small businesses that move things, mow lawns, etc. hardest. These tend to vote republican, so rats won’t care.
