He has nobody to blame for this mess except himself & his airhead attention seeking wife. He blames his kids & she uses them as props for her photo op bikini beach pics. 🤬
Now, the kids can’t go back to school until they’ve quarantined for 10-14 days! She knew this before she splashed the travel itinerary all over SM 🙄

There are perfectly fine places in America where he could have sent Heidi and his daughters.
They wouldn’t have risked being kept out of the US for weeks on end with a positive covid test
They wouldn’t have risked having to be treated for Covid in Mexico
And most of all, he wouldn’t have committed a Dukakis tank of his career.
He wasnt even smart enough to concoct a cover up that wouldnt get blown and show he was lying.

So why didn’t he send them off with his wife? Think of all the photo ops he could have put on his TWITTER acct. The very fact that he still uses TWITTER pisses me off more than his “let them eat cake” attitude. 😠
I dont know that he does. He may be like some here and think he did nothing wrong but is apologizing to try to save his political career.
One of my relatives is in the middle of this mess. He is young and pretty conservative. He thinks Ted in his River Oaks mansion is out of touch and had no concept that what he was about to do would create so much backlash.
Just about any political strategist could have told him it was a bad move.
If he was politically savvy (which he is clearly is not)...he could have used this entire situation to springboard for higher office..with his wife right by his side.
Instead...they fled.

Yes, this is dumb. Politicians just get in the way. He has no reason to apologize. If he and his family had stayed in Texas, would that have helped anybody? It always irritates me when presidents show up to tour disaster areas to show they “care” - more like for photo ops. It takes first responders away from productive duties to protect the president.
Cruz barely won his last election so he can’t make such bonehead moves if he wants to stay in the Senate. And now to compound it by seeming so slimy with his explanations makes it even worse. The really dangerous thing is that I think he could now be co-opted by the left in order to push their plans in exchange for eventually helping him keep his seat.
just checked..Heidi’s dad is a Dentist and looks like he might still be alive and her brother is a Surgeon. Looks like both are in California. So yes, those children did not have to jet off to Cancun to stay warm...
at this point both he and heidi better roll up their sleeves and act like humanitarians instead of elitist douchebags if he wants to get relected.
He has got a few years to rehabilitate himself.
