You are describing Chris Plante coming from WMAL in DC. 9 to noon. He is knowledgeable, smart and funny. He covered the Pentagon for CNN until he couldn’t take the dishonesty any longer and changed to talk radio. He and his “best girl” (wife) walk around DC when things are happening and share what they have seen. Give him a try live on the Internet. Most days his show is on a podcast later in the day or maybe the next day.
Not as a replacement, but I’d love to have Bo do a “The Rush I Knew.” Show.
Rush was the closest thing to the talents of Paul Harvey. Harvey did two 15 minute daily shows to an audience of 20 million.
Rush did three hours daily to an audience of 20 million.
God must have someone ready to emerge from the shadows.
Been thinking about Rush all day. Saw him once live about 15 years ago in Chicago for a WLS anniversary show, and of course he was fantastic. I was hoping that he might have recorded a secret Christmas show to be played next December. Just talk to us, play this favorite songs, and maybe read a “Christmas Carol” to us. That would be a great loving surprise.
Obviously, Rush cannot be replaced. His widow and perhaps his brother David to help her, should decide what happens to the program. I’d like to see it continue with a revolving schedule of the guys who’ve been filling in. I like them all, but I would not care to be limited to hearing only just one of them. Mark Steyn, Todd Herman, Ken Matthews and the new guy from one of the Carolinas are all good. Maybe David Limbaugh himself would want to make it a team of five. I hope Kathryn decides to take over the management of it, and keeps it going until Jesus comes back.
It won’t be one of Rush’s fill in hosts. Who knows how long radio stations will continue airing the fill in hosts. They may just get a syndicated host to take the spot.
I thought that Bo Snerdley (James Golden) would end up taking over.
I thought the same thing too. Its really a shame Rush didn’t start training someone as to being his replacement. Not like he didn’t know the jig was up, and his milk carton was about to expire. Not sure James really wants it. He went off radio to start his own thang in the ealy days of podcasting and it didn’t work out, which is why he came back.
They released plans to do just that. Rush moments that merge with problems today with a guest narrator to comment or explain the connection.
When Rush lost his hearing, O'Riley tried and failed.
I am really glad about that. Thanks.
Positively nobody can replace RUSH. Hopefully the show goes on in some way and can survive long enough for a new host to keep conservative talk radio alive.
Yes, because Rush was still there, even with his hearing loss. Now, he’s not there.
I’m sure Dennis Prager and Steve Deace will pick up stations and others will try to fill the void. I’ve heard that Laura Ingraham is interested in getting back into radio and may be looking at the noon-3 PM Eastern time slot. She won’t be the only one.
I wonder if Mark Steyn would be interested in a daily show.
As I said, Rush is irreplaceable, but somebody will pick up the ball and run with it. And the country needs someone or some group of people to keep building on Rush’s foundation.
For sure but they will not maintain Rush's audience. Prager is quite deep and a good listen but 3 hrs a day without guests and almost no callers would be a hard act to duplicate.
