That’s a good question. Would he live longer without the treatment and in less discomfort? My aunt forewent chemo after her stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis and lived for 2 years and 2 months after diagnosis. She was only given 2-3 months to live. She was 76 when she died.

Radon is radioactive, in other words it's ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation damages DNA -that is not in question. Damaged DNA greatly increases the likelihood of cancer, especially if the immune system is weakened such as with age or due to immunosuppressive drugs, and is unable to destroy damaged cells. Remember cancer is not a 'causative' disease as in if you do X, you will get cancer. A number of things have to happen over a period of time for you to get cancer, but the starting point is almost always damaged DNA such as from exposure to substances. This is why most lifelong smokers do NOT get lung cancer even though all have damaged DNA in their lungs because the other things that need to happen for it to progress cancer does not happen. But they are among the highest risk groups
Secondly, death certificates only list the immediate cause of death, not what lead to it. If someone dies of head trauma it will say head trauma and not that their blood alcohol was 3 times the allowed limit while they were behind the wheel.

My father is a WWII vet, in fact he was able to go on an Honor Flight a few years ago and actually met Bob Dole and had a nice conversation with him. He’s a retired dentist and made “Doc Calls” handmade beautiful duck calls and he’s got his picture with Dole on his website. He said it was one of the highlights of his life as they got to see their WWII memorial.
My father is 95 and got Covid last January when he was 94, before we knew it was going to be ravaging here. He and my mother who I’m also certain had it, she’s now 93, both recovered. Later we knew it had been Covid because they lost sense of taste for months.

Dole was very vocal last fall about the inequity in the makeup of the panel determining the format and questions of the debates. He felt Trump was getting the shaft.
This wasn't the first time Dole spoke up in defense of President Trump.
Dole is a brave man. I pray for his comfort and peace through this next ordeal.
