Wish I could go back to the 1970s and write a scare novel on how the entire world would get shutdown in the 21st Century due to a virus that has a 99.98% survival rate. And how people would happily give up their rights and line up for hours to receive vaccines for such.

Then again, nobody would have published a book like that, as it would stretch all credulity. My editor would have told me to make it where at least 40% of the people died, in order to make it more believable.
