What a week. Still mourning the loss of my elderly mom on Monday, then hit with the news of Rush.
As with many here, Rush was an icon. He articulated what so many of us thought, but couldn’t say. He gave voice to the anxieties, hopes and ideas held by many who felt they could not fight against the inexorable decline of western civilization. And he did so with a variably charming humour and bitingly sarcastic wit. He laid the groundwork for what would become the Trump Revolution.
My Mount Rushmore of conservative icons includes Sir Edmund Burke, Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, and President Donald J. Trump
Ron McKernan, the Blues King AND the star of the Band.. Mr. Charlie Told me so!
A true American legend. God rest his soul and prayers for the family.

Lord God, Jesus Christ, rest the soul of Thy servant Rush with the saints, comfort his family, and comfort us, his listeners.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
It did! Thank you so much! I remember that last call to which he referred. It was wonderful.
Thank you for posting this. There is also a clip there from February 2--his last day on air--I was glad to see that also.
Thank you. I miss him already.
Amen
Such heartbreaking news. He did an amazing service for the country he loved, helping conservatives learn to articulate what they believed better, and even opening the eyes of many “liberals”. Such a wonderful voice for all of us, he will be missed greatly. So thankful he is in heaven though.
Amen to that post weston, Amen.
You are most welcome. It was the least I could do.
Your response made me tear up (which has happened many times in the last 23.5 hours!). Rush would appreciate his fans taking care of each other!
How?
Yes it was Punkin.... I loved hearing his cat stories....
Nutmeg,
Thank you for pinging me with this announcement. The EIB ticker is running “Todd Herman will guest host a special tribute to Rush on today’s show.”
Life is fleeting, in the big scheme of things.

When I had listened to Katherine yesterday early afternoon, that Rush had passed on, it felt like a ton of bricks falling down on me, even thought I was told ahead of time by Rush that there will be a day he will no longer be around.
I suspect that the gentleman I have been listening to since early last year, Chris Plante will get the those hours very soon.
