You’re kidding, right? The Uniparty (R), McConnell, Inc., just rode Trump out of town on a rail. Who took who to the woodshed? Trump has no control over the Uniparty (R)/GOP/DS. Trump has the support of 90% of rank and file conservatives but has no way to flex it while confined in the Uniparty (R). He should take the 90% support, start a new party and swing that support like a walking tall club when he gets back to Sh!thole D.C.
We have to consider one truth of American politics today.
AOC and the squad, with a minority of support have been able to pull their party far to the left.
Why?
Because the majority of their caucus (mostly in urban areas) are terrified of being primaried by the radical left.
Could not Trump and MAGA do the same thing to the GOP?
The power of primaries is that a small group of dedicated and enthusiastic folks can choose candidates. The same can be said for local and state party organizations.
I had this discussion earlier. The week after the November election I was all for a MAGA party and I was about as angry with the feckless GOP as I have ever been.
Since then, I have reversed course. If conservatives cannot get rid of the swamp denizens in the GOP how in the hell are we going to take on big media, big tech, big corporations, the DNC, and the bureaucracy of the swamp? A third party is not the answer if the “MAGA party” splits votes with republicrats.
MAGA can overtake the GOP and “we” need to set our targets for 2022. Knock off enough GOPe incumbents and you will see more republicrats embrace MAGA prior to 2024.
Outside of that, I don’t see any good options. Trump is far more powerful within the GOP among voters than AOC and the squad.
Think on it.
No, but you seem quite delusional -- is that intentional?
hardspunned: "Trump has the support of 90% of rank and file conservatives but has no way to flex it while confined in the Uniparty (R).
He should take the 90% support, start a new party and swing that support like a walking tall club when he gets back to Sh!thole D.C."
The last Trump-like populist president we had was Teddy Roosevelt, who declared war on Republicans in 1912, split them apart and elected Democrat Woodrow Wilson.
Today Republican Trump has something like 90% support among Republicans, but if he splits the party to start a third party, he will not get all 90% and communist-Democrats will be the beneficiaries.
What Trump needs to do is take A-holes like Mitch to the political woodshed and give them a whuppin' they'll never forget.
If Mitch gets removed as leader, the Republicans come back strong in 2022.
There's no other way.
