As 2022 Campaign Begins, GOP Voters Sour on Senate Republicans

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) saw the largest decline in his approval rating among GOP voters, dipping 29 points, to 41%.

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), who is up for re-election next year, saw his approval rating fall 16 points among Republican voters, and just 22% are “strongly” in his corner.

Intraparty declines for retiring Pennsylvania, Ohio senators illustrate the challenges of simultaneously satisfying both the base and the broader electorate in the Trump era ahead of contested primaries.

“You cannot say, ‘Trump voters, come out and vote and support us’ while saying ‘Trump’s a horrible person,’” said Shermichael Singleton, a former Republican consultant who worked on Ben Carson’s 2016 presidential bid. “These people are not stupid.”

Who’s gonna take on Thune? it will be someone who doesn’t care what others think. WE don’t have enough of those.

True, that. DJT elected a lot of GOPers. But really, he highlighted their GOPer positives, WE elected them. A dynamic that so many RINOs understand, which is why they hide their inner progressive.

Mitch, one highly suspects, is in his final term. I don't see him running again (age), so now we get to meet the real McConnell. A weasel, as it turns out.

It is Mitch's choice to be forever regarded as a RINO elite.

If they were as smart a politician as claim to be; they get aboard the Trump bandwagon.

“””Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) saw the largest decline in his approval rating among GOP voters, dipping 29 points, to 41%.”””

I am very surprised that Mitch’s approval rating was at 70% before. Was his 70% approval recent or was it sometime in the past?

Based upon the comments on the various FR threads re Mitch, his approval rating among FReepers is in the single digits.

No way does mcconnell have a 41% approval rating among republicans, that’s just BS. I think it, at best, is in the low teens.

The great percentage go by name recognition alone.

Now they know more about him.

These RINOs sold their soul to the Devil: they won re-election on Trump's coat-tails while simultaneously stabbing him in the back by cooperating with the Steal of the Century.

Trump voters will NEVER forget.

Patriots make up the vast majority of GOP voters, but the office holders are filled with RINO scum. Luckily, we clearly know who they are and 2022 will be the first election cycle where GOP patriots purge the RINOs!

Waste of time if voter fraud not addressed

Oh, but it is being addressed NOW. The RINOs were happy to let the 2020 steal happen because it only affected Trump.

Then the GA runoffs happened in 2021, and that is a harbinger of things to come if the GOP-controlled legislatures don't address election fraud. Now that their jobs are on the line in 2022, the RINOs in GA are bringing forth legislation to not allow the cheat-by-mail-in ballots.

That's great that the RINOs are doing this. It'll be easier to primary them in 2022.

I could vote for DeSantis. We need for Trump to make up his mind soon so that if he’s not running then DeSantis and others can make their moves.

We need Trump to give his stamp of approval, and we need to find conservative dems, DINOs if you will, to run in primaries, too. Win enough seats and they can form the bi=partisan America First coalition, similar to the gang of eight.

When you’re a minority the question of desire doesn’t really enter into it.

Trump needs to make it clear he’s not running again, and soon. It will be better for everybody, including him and the preservation of his legacy.

Mitch was in the 20-30 percent range a couple years back
and that is where he belongs and is headed.

I don’t know why each state doesn’t pass laws making recalls
and impeachment state law.

States have priority over Federal laws.
