All of these assertions about the supposed homosexuality of historical figures is the result of imposing current values (one’s that I do not share) on the past... without any recourse to objective history and/or textual analysis.
One of the most troubling things going on in the classroom today is the removal of historic context. Today’s “sensibilities” are used to judge people of the past. This is as old as the story of the Garden of Eden, where the serpent questions the Divine’s [past] pronouncements about the fruit of the tree of knowledge (”Surely God has not said...”). Eve’s misinterpretation of God’s original statement (she adds to it, saying God’s command included not touching) invites the challenge to what was said [in the past] and, so, our history was effectively rewritten.
