Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, the Senate‘s second-ranking Republican, said Friday he’s open to censuring former President Donald Trump, as the impeachment trial of Mr. Trump nears a vote for acquittal.
“I’ve seen a couple of [censure] resolutions at least that I think could attract some support,” Mr. Thune said of his Republican colleagues.
Asked if that includes him, Mr. Thune replied, “Yes.”

There is a single charge of “incitement” against President Trump. How could a private call between McCarthy and Trump on Jan 6th “incite” the crowd already inside the US Capital?
This is Washington DC nonsense.
Watching a recap of earlier today it becomes evident what the dem plan is. Call those that were arrested for entering the Capitol that they probably blackmailed into giving statements that Trump incited their actions.
Considering that Trump is not president at this point, I’m not going to get worried about this morning’s events. The way I see it, if the Republicans vote to convict, nothing in DC changes, other than Trump PUTS A FORK into the Republican Party, and it finished for good. If Trump is acquitted and the Republicans are real nice to Trump, he may let them exist a bit longer as the opposition party to the Democrats.
Trump is that powerful.
Haven’t heard anything from McCarthy on last night’s Herrera Beutler accusation. McCarthy is now in the middle of a mess that’s way out of his depth. McCarthy is probably shaking in some quiet corner right now.
House managers got their case shredded yesterday by the defense. Thus, the expected antics and surprise (ala Kavanaugh hearings) witness at the last minute.
I think this is bad for Dems, they were in a hope and decided to dig deeper. Trump will need to expand his defense team though.
