While I’m not crying over seeing him go, I do cringe at what the Alabama GOP might end up with. Roy Moore again? Tim James? Yikes. It’s Nick Saban’s if he wants it, of course.
Deep state crap.
He is so decrepit he will be lucky to make it to the next election. I hope Mo Brooks runs.
For God's sake he is 86 freakin' years old. He'd be 88 for the election and 94 if survived his term. Enough already.
Hooray!
Glad to see this RINO out.
I was gonna not vote for him this time. It’s great to have a choice again. No holding my nose because democrats are worse...
Suggestions?
Moe Brooks, it is YOUR time!
42 years on.
And there is not ONE Human Being in Alabama that can replace this guy?
Really?
Ya’ll deserve to get what you get.
Oh, yes-please do not run, Shelby-it makes my day to see another RINO bite the political dust...
I live in AL. Won’t miss him a bit. Never opened is pie hole to support Trump. Former Democrat. We can do much better if our voters will just quit being stupid. Not as bad as Romitt, Toomey, Sasse and the like. We need a stronger conservative.
This just means he is voting to impeach. Nothing to lose.
He should resign and let the guv appoint his replacement.
Good. Glad to see him go. I wonder who Mitch McConnell will pick as his replacement.
In related news, Madame Chuck-A-Rama Abrams and Andrew Yang are suddenly extolling what a wonderful state Alabama would be for Democrats to live in.
Overstayed his welcome by decades. Should never have defeated Admiral Jeremiah Denton for reelection in 1986. Sabotaged Chief Justice Roy Moore’s run in 2017 in favor of Demonrat Jones.
Mo Brooks sounds good to succeed him, BUT, he’ll turn 69 3 months into the start of the 2023 term. The question is whether he wants to serve a single term or not. The Senate is the body where you have to really acquire seniority in order to get power, and he won’t do that in a single 6-year term.
Ideally, getting a young, hard-charging Trump Conservative in there is the best. Way too many old folks in the Senate ruining the country.
Where in the hell has he EVER been?
For goodness sake, let the man retire in peace so he can enjoy the me time he has earned. Alabama has plenty of time to find a suitable candidate. Why do we have to keep electing people simply because they are a warm body Republican?
More Bush League dead wood.
If true, NO to Judge Roy Moore.
Mel Brooks
“A titan of Alabama politics, the 86-year-old politician has spent 42 years in Washington,”
He needs to go! And take the rest of the long haulers with him.
Time to get the Mo Brooks train cranked up and runnin'!
