The author sounds truthful to me.

Trump's historical weakness since winning in 2016 was extremely poor personnel decisions coupled with enemy sappers getting through the wire and into the highest levels of influence. It came to a head at the worst possible time.

There were many times over the last four years when it seemed like Trump didn’t even take the job seriously.

I saw a clip from an interview on Fox a while back where he said he named Jeff Sessions as his AG because Sessions begged him for the job.

Really? That sounds like something I’d see on his TV show.
