The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) latest order, requiring individuals to wear masks when using public transportation or residing in transportation hubs, will be “further enforced by other federal authorities,” the agency announced in its order, which went into effect this week.
Under the order, individuals are required to wear masks while using public transportation, which includes “awaiting, boarding, disembarking, or traveling on airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares as they are traveling into, within, or out of the United States and U.S. territories,” per the CDC.

I kind of doubt it. Federal jurisdiction for interstate travel maybe. But not a taxi across town. That is state jurisdiction.
Illegal order. And the law they use to justify it does not do so. I checked. Will call FL AGs office tomorrow, send them a letter, ask for an opinion. Good time for Desantis to say, “Nope. Not going to enforce it.”

Just remember. Chicago is a rail and air hub. Atlanta and New York and Los Angeles are also air hubs. You can see to where this is leading.
I think it will be interpreted by the authoritarians that if a train, plane, bus or subway has a transfer point, that’s a hub.
Have I got news for you. There is plenty of precedent. Study East Germany 1945-1990. With open borders, there will be lots of applicants for these $15/hr enforcement jobs (funded by new taxes or fees on the rest of us or by imaginary $ such as those used for the covid rescue). Instead of showing up at Home Depot early in the morning to take jobs at below minimum wage for mowing your lawn, trim your trees, etc., they will be stationed at every intersection hauling you in if your second mask slips off. Don’t forget the 75 or so M biden voters who are collecting brownie points for turning in their neighbours.
This is going to be fun to watch. My money is not on the Fed’s! I need more popcorn!
I wonder if moist or wet towels over the face while pouring additional water over the mouth is effective at keeping the virus at bay.
