An Oregonian article places the number at 11,000 who left the Republican Party.

There are many “Republicans” who no longer want to be members of that party after it turned on Trump. I’m one of them.

AS stated since joining FR 2007..I am NOT a member of the GOP. Never been. Never will. I’ll give money directly ala Palin.

My friends in Oregon tell me they don’t want their names on the record. The RATS now control OR and can do whatever they want.

That was also part of my thinking. With as batshit insane as the dems are going, I can see purging of republicans happening in any government job. I've got about 8 years left till I can retire, pop smoke, and leave this hellhole of a state.

I considered Oregon as a retirement destination. The coast is mild and not very expensive. CA and WA are too expensive. But all three states are run by leftists, so I settled on NV, which is still a purple state. AZ would have been a second choice.

Oregon is controlled by two counties and 3 cities. The rest of the state is quite conservative.

The only problem being that Independents cannot Vote in Republican Primaries although there are are exemptions to that rule.

I live in MS. You do not have a Party Affiliation here, you simply choose a Republican or DEMONcRAT Ballot when you go to Vote in a Primary Election.

The Ladies at the Republican Table in my Polling Place seemed kind of lonely when I went to Vote in the Primary here. I live in Adams County, a largely DEMONcRAT County.

A third Party is unworkable given the costs and infrastructure from starting from scratch.

Fix what you have by getting true Conservative Republicans Elected in the Primaries.

That’s just it. I knew this would happen. The media will say that people who switched their party affiliation were angry at Trump, not that they were ticked off at the spineless Republicans. As Rush, everything the right does is twisted and used against us by the media.

I am very well aware of the fact that Free Republic is home based in California and that Freepers who live there provide the margin of financial support necessary for continued existence.

However since California has become a sanctuary for non Americans and has ceased obeying many Federal, ie American, Laws, it has effectively seceded, divorced it’s self, from the union. California is also a sanctuary for tent dwelling squatters who abhor being responsible for them selves and live civilized lives. In the heart of the greatest wealth on earth, tens of thousands chose to live in squalor rather than submit to the rigors of being good American citizens

The Robinsons and my very good ultra conservative intellectual friend of fifty years who is trapped in Mountain View are in effect tax slaves. They pay outrageous taxes to support politicians who have led California out of the Union. They have no control over their destiny. They effectively have no control over their freedom.

So, since California has chosen to discard American law and values, there are many very good people living there who are Californians, but no longer Americans.

ditto Oregon. Ditto Washington

it is very sad
