Jan. 6 Rally Funded by Top Trump Donor, Helped by Alex Jones, Organizers Say

The rally in Washington’s Ellipse that preceded the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol was arranged and funded by a small group including a top Trump campaign fundraiser and donor facilitated by far-right show host Alex Jones.

Mr. Jones personally pledged more than $50,000 in seed money for a planned Jan. 6 event in exchange for a guaranteed “top speaking slot of his choice,” according to a funding document outlining a deal between his company and an early organizer for the event.

Mr. Jones also helped arrange for Julie Jenkins Fancelli, a prominent donor to the Trump campaign and heiress to the Publix Super Markets Inc. chain, to commit about $300,000 through a top fundraising official for former President Trump’s 2020 campaign, according to organizers. Her money paid for the lion’s share of the roughly $500,000 rally at the Ellipse where Mr. Trump spoke.

Another far-right activist and leader of the “Stop the Steal” movement, Ali Alexander, helped coordinate planning with Caroline Wren, a fundraising official who was paid by the Trump campaign for much of 2020 and who was tapped by Ms. Fancelli to organize and fund an event on her behalf, organizers said. On social media, Mr. Alexander had targeted Jan. 6 as a key date for supporters to gather in Washington to contest the 2020-election certification results. The week of the rally, he tweeted a flyer for the event saying: “DC becomes FORT TRUMP starting tomorrow on my orders!”

The Ellipse rally, at which President Trump urged supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol, was lawful and nonviolent. But it served as a jumping-off point for many supporters to head to the Capitol.

This is news?!?! WSJ?!??

Anything outside the Capitol doors (and most inside the Capitol, like the Kavanaugh women’s marchers did) was 1st Amendment and legal.

(Thanks for archiving so we don’t need to pay for this propaganda.)

The last time I saw the Capitol in the 70’s it left me with a sick feeling in my gut - like I would feel on seeing a month old KIA.

If 75 million armed patriots had shown up on Jan.20 Joe Biden would be sitting in a basement cell - instead his traitorous butt tracks now adorn the Oval Office.

So I freely confess I applaud what happened and belong in the dock with the guilty sicko bad people.

If you mean to have a dogpile let it begin here.

I was there, too. I actually looked for you and the flags you posted about a day or so before the event. I was near the Washington monument, somewhat southwest of it, I think.

Took us about forty minutes, in no particular hurry, to get to the capitol. The sh!t show was already well underway by the time we got to the reflecting pool. People were starting to get texts about the curfew, so we eventually made our way out of there.

“Escape from DC” would make an interesting story in itself...

WRONG!!

The leftist/AntiFah/B El Em’s were ALREADY at the Capitol....and, had been doing their dirty deeds planning, the days and night before.

I don’t care about all of this stuff. I want to know, who really arranged for the small attack on the Capital? I highly suspect Antifa or a similar group was behind it. But articles simply about people who helped fund the peaceful protest are pointless.

“Jan. 6 Rally Funded by Top Trump Donor, Helped by Alex Jones, Organizers Say”

SO WHAT!?

NOTHINGBURGER story from The Wall Street Urinal.

WOW! A rally was actually “organized” by somebody?

WOW! People put up “money” in order to hold a rally?

WOW! A Trump rally was organized and paid for by TRUMP SUPORTERS!

Trump did nothing WRONG! It was a “perfect” speech.

I have yet to see anyone in congress address the fact that the real insurrection happened last summer when the anarchists climbed a fence and tried to get to the White House.

Interesting. I had not heard about that. Do you suppose the same group was behind the assault on the capital? Those attackers certainly were wearing an Antifa uniform.

What I would like to see is an army of private investigators look at what really happened in the Capitol before the incident began. I would like them to find a whistleblower or three inside the Capitol itself. It’s obvious to me with the leader ship of the house and senate were in on the plot.
Nancy and her minions and Mitch and his.
They wanted to make it look like Trump supporters are terrorists and that Trump could never be trusted with any kind of leader ship again. And they are succeeding at this point.
I’m hoping PDJT can mount a Defense by showing how Nancy colluded with Antifa to cause the false flag operation.
But apparently even Buffalo Man is going to testify against Trump at impeachment.

The actual assault was prepared in a completely different venue, under a false flag, as a means to intimidate the members of Congress into a panic vote, to close off ALL challenges to the vote totals presented for each state’s electors, and let the rather lopsided results stand.

Your reasoning is sound. The biggest loser because of the incursion into the Capitol was President Trump. The opportunity to have actual evidence of election fraud written into the Congressional Record was lost forever. It would probably not have changed the outcome of the election, but at least the left would not be able to say forever that “there was no evidence.”

Subsequently PDJT and his supporters are being “canceled”, denied job opportunities, refused book contracts, accused of crimes, etc. There is no way that President Trump would have incited a riot anywhere, much less at the Capitol.

I wonder if the WSJ did the same level of digging to uncover those who financed the January 2017 protest at President Trump’s Inauguration? I don’t recall seeing any article on the topic. Likewise, did the WSJ do any digging to identify those who financed the riots all across our country last summer? Again, I don’t recall seeing any articles on this topic. Finally, even if the January 6th rally was financed in part by Trump supporters, this does not mean the purpose was to riot. It was to peacefully assemble as is the right of all Americans under the First Amendment. But, the WSJ’s purpose is to link the protest to the riots and to President Trump. More propaganda courtesy of the Murdock empire.

As far as I am concerned on Jan.20 the US Constitution and lawful President of the United States were overthrown by a treasonous subterfuge.

I further believe that the lawful government ceased to operate on Jan.20 and that the current government has no lawful authority and is in fact a criminal enterprise.

Call me a terrorist or whatever you like but I will do anything necessary to see this unlawful regime overthrown and any who collaborated with it brought to justice.

Those who choose to remain neutral and not collaborate may not be traitors - but neither should they benefit in any way from their actions.

I have yet to see anyone in congress address the fact that the real insurrection happened last summer when the anarchists climbed a fence and tried to get to the White House. The tried to burn down a church and assaulted capitol police. It was so dangerous the had to put a fence around the WH grounds so they couldn’t breach it. When Trump tried to call out the National Guard to regain order both sides of the aisle trashed him. This should be his first line of defense in my opinion.

Yes absolutely. I've been saying this too.

Unfortunately, I could not be at this event, but I have good friends who were and they informed me of what transpired. It was a tea party-styled gathering. I’ve been to a few of these. It was completely organic collection of conservative and libertarian minded tax payers who are normally too busy working to pay for the stuff in this country to have the time to take off from their jobs to gather in D.C., often with very divergent and varied top-line issues of interests (freedom of speech, 2A, pro-life, religious liberty, immigration reform, small government etc.) acting on their First Amendment rights.

So, when are they going to go after the funders and bus-renters and equippers of all the BLM rallies that burned out cities for the prior 7 months?

Publix is being threatened with boycotts simply because Ms. Fancelli was involved in an event that was unrelated to the "tragedy." She need not worry.

However, as I've said elsewhere more than once, Alex Jones is absolutely detrimental to the conservative movement, and association with him just as ill advised.

So glad I didn’t have this article show up at my front door. I cancelled that crap weeks ago, and I suspect many others have as well.

As much as they ignore the attrition of NFL viewers, FB/ Twitter subscribers, WSJ, etc. it presents a serious problem for them.

1) They cannot show revenue growth if viewer/subscriber counts are down, which means that they cannot increase advertiser rates.

2) Worse, stock prices will start to reflect lower subscription/ active users rates

3)They have to cut expenses to accommodate, limiting their marketing reach and administrative abilities.

Burn, babies, burn!
