I’ve been frustrated and “walking away” from the GOP for a long time. McCain, Romney, etc. I keep saying “I’m through”. But, in fact, I have voted a straight Republican ticket in every election since 1980. Forty years of loyalty, despite my frequent frustrations.

It’s gone. I’m done. I will not ever vote Republican again. Screw ‘em. They stabbed Donald Trump in the back and they deserve to lose. Hard. Every time. Forever.

I share your frustration. That said, it would be better focus on cleaning house in the GOP than starting a third party. Splitting the conservative votes between two parties would probably result in another win for the Democrats. I don't think our nation would survive that. I think pushing for tighter voter ID and tightening the rules on absentee and mail-in ballots would be a good start. We want strong primaries to vet candidates...

Who is the “they” you speak of?

You lump all good GOPers in with the bad, ignoring who acted, who did or not have a position to act from, and many other factors. In effect you might as well be saying all the 70+ million voters who voted for Trump, minus yourself, let Trump down.

Your position has never built any party. It always throws the baby out with the bathwater.
