And oddly, a mass of data doesn't sway a debate either - one has to find and appeal to some type of shared value.
We may only agree on one thing and disagree on 87 things, but I need to find that ONE thing we can agree on, and work from there.
But certainly: "you're a jerk" isn't a good opening gambit....
