Normally a third party push WOULD be a problem, because it would splinter one of the two dominant parties and leave the other intact to have the advantage. However, we are in new territory. It is quite obvious that the Republican party does not represent its base, and, in fact, seems to despise its own base. A third party, in this circumstance, is the only way for that voting base to get representation, and with Trump as the de facto head of that new party, it would take anywhere from 50% to 75% of the former Republican voting base with it.

The short version of this is: we don’t want a third party - we want a SECOND party. With the creation of the MAGA/Patriot party, I would expect the Republican Party to simply wither and die, leaving only the new “third” party to take all the former Republicans.

Only way I will EVER vote again is with Trump at the head of a 3rd party!! If Trump goes back to the republicans I STAY unregistered I have had ENOUGH of Republican Party a lifetime of BS from them AND NOW a fraudulent election left to stand by them the absolute utter betrayal of our nation!! Thank you very much for the well thought out, well presented reply.
As I see it, every party inevitably has infighting, disagreements, factions and threatened splits. It don't matter whether its left wing or right wing.
Remember the nasty vicious fight (which developed into actual war) between the Bolsheviks and the Menshivicks during the Soviet Revolution?)
Even if President Trump had formed a “Patriot Party” there will inevitably be disagreements and factions within it.
In the present situation, we are going to need to fight for the soul of the party from within the party, otherwise we lose. Its hard enough beating the Dems with one Republican Party. A split into two Republican Party will guarantee a very long , dictatorial, oppressive, evil, far left regime.
We simply cannot afford to have that.

But you’d still have to gain control of certain precincts and I doubt that is going to happen. It’ll just be a civil war within the Dem power structure. They already know how to handle anyone who isn’t in their power circle.
