There are two sides to the question of where the eventual Trump presidential library will be built. Where would Donald Trump want it to go? And where would it be allowed to be built?
The two places Trump has chosen to live, New York City and Palm Beach, Florida, are very unlikely to permit construction of what would amount to a monument and pilgrimage site honoring the 45th President of the United States. Partly, that would be based on partisan differences and, face it, the irrational hatred we call Trump Derangement Syndrome. But in the case of Palm Beach, there is also an aversion to crowds, especially what might be perceived as crowds of the hoi polloi.
(I vividly remember the fight over the Kennedy family’s plan to build the JFK Library adjacent to Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Despite his status as a martyred hero in the eyes of locals, the fear of hordes of tourists led to rejection of the plan, and the site – a rail yard for the subway that became redundant when an extension of the line was built – eventually housed Harvard’s new Kennedy School of Government. The JFK Library went to a somewhat desolate point of land sticking into the harbor.)
It is notable that the parts of the country where Trump is most popular, the South, the industrial Midwest, and the non-coastal West, have the least connection to his places of residence.
A friend suggested that Mt. Rushmore might be appropriate, as it is the inspiring site that Trump used for what may be regarded as his best speech. It is already set up to handle crowds of tourists, and carries with it a sense of pilgrimage.

Why the rush, perhaps after his second term this can be addressed.
Next to Nancy’s house.
Yes, agreed. Let’s wait until after his 2nd or 3rd term is over before we see where to ‘erect’ (pay attention, Chuck!)
this grand edifice.
There is a good chance no place will allow Trump’s library to be built, if a site is chosen that site will immediately undergo tremendous pressure to cancel, even if it’s built, it will for a long time be subject to vandalism...
If Palm Beach is where his main residence will be, it would be logical to put in it one of the major universities in Florida, like UCF, Miami, UF, FSU, etc....the students and faculty would riot if a university tried to build it on or near campus...
As a life long northern Californian, I don’t much care for the arid landscape of Southern California. Reagan wanted to build his library in glorious Portola Valley on the San Francisco peninsula. Because of the haters it got built instead in Simi Valley. I’ve been there and it’s a lovely facility, but a very arid setting
Washington DC!
On top of Mount Rushmore?
Trump will not get a Presidential Library, get real. How would funding be procured?
Yuma, AZ, next to his Border Wall.
Bedminster, NJ would be awesome!
Good luck....it would be nice and the ultimate troll job, but probably won’t happen....LOL
I have 125 acres in SE Oklahoma.... bet I could find a scenic spot for it next to the creek, with access to the blacktop road.... the county voted 86% for Trump!
Why bother?
He should just send his papers to the Library of Congress and let them organize them.
Presidential libraries are exercises in personal vanity. President Trump has built mighty monuments to his achievements. Why should he need a library?
I believe funding is procured via private donations.
Same here. He’s welcome to build it on my extra property. Great views of the mighty Sierra Nevada. I worked as an inspector at Ronald Reagan’s library in Simi Valley when the Air Force one pavilion was built. A great honor. California is not out of the question.
Bedminister would be a good choice. Easy access from Interstate 78 is a huge plus for that location.
Interesting, I figured it was another budgetary item needing funding approval. But, private donations in modern USSA will quickly become a very public media hit list!
