As if the winter darkness doesn't present its own health challenges in a non-pandemic year, a recent study suggests that the sun's lack of intensity in the coldest months of this year might also be enhancing the transmission of COVID-19. However, that also means good news may be on the horizon, literally, as an increase in sunlight could shine hope in the battle against coronavirus transmission.

A recent study published by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that UV light has a particularly significant effect on the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

"Following this UV shock, we see this dip in cases, but we don’t know what causes that," Proctor said. "It could be that the virus is deactivated [by UV light], which would suggest that something like sterilizing using UV lamps could be beneficial," he said.
So it’s fishy...
Taht is why I spent all summer outside naked. Little chilly to do that now.
Now we know Joe Biden’s plan! Tilt the earth’s axis so it’ll always be summer!
Took my Vit D-3 this morning and just came in from a little chore outside in the sunshine.
Took 50 mcg D3 and 1000 Vit C this morning and just came in from picking a pail of pecans in the sunshine.
😂😂😂
People complain when I do that
It is the Vitamin D, folks. The “sunshine vitamin” (really a hormone) is critical to the immune system, and exposure to it in warmer weather is why the flu is prevalent in the late Fall and Winter, and not in the late Spring and Summer.
Keep your levels of D up, and you’ll have a much stronger immune system to fight whatever disease is out there. My (non-doctor) advice is to have at least 5,000 IU (125 mg>)/day, which costs about a nickel a day when you buy a bottle at Costco or Sam’s Club. Have it with a fatty meal for better absorption. As a bonus, it’ll help keep your bones stronger.
Do your own research, but this is what you’re going to find.
And yet they locked up our outdoor basketball and tennis courts most of last summer!
I’ve been laying out in the Sun a few times per week, getting
some on all four sides.
During the Summer I spend 4 minutes per side.
In the Winter I spent 8.
I always feel good after laying out like that.
I have my groceries delivered every week and the look of fear in the delivery person who is usually in their 20’s is epic. Their eyes get wide as they see me waiting with no mask...

Vitamin D deficiency being a major correlation to bad outcomes for Covid has been known since APRIL!!!
Whole thing is garbage and lies...
LOL. Thanks for the chuckle. Love that show.
1. UV light.
2. Sunlight’s relationship to Vitamin D in humans.
Both of those factors retard the progress of the Wuhan bug.
