Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday morning announced that he has ordered back home Florida National Guard troops sent to Washington, D.C., to secure the inauguration of President Joe Biden, which took place on Wednesday.
“[Governor Ron DeSantis] says he ordered the National Guard to come home from the U.S. Capitol because ‘they’re not Nancy Pelosi’s servants’ and ‘this is a half-cocked mission at this point and I think the appropriate thing is to bring them home,'” reported Miami Herald Tallahassee Bureau Chief Mary Ellen Klas.
Republican Gov. Greg Abbott (TX) reacted quickly to the report, too, ordering on Thursday night that members of the Texas National Guard return D.C. back to Texas, The Daily Wire reported.
“I have instructed General Norris to order the return of the Texas National Guard to our state,” Abbott said on Twitter.
Earlier in the week, the Abbott ripped into the so-called “loyalty” screening of the tens of thousands of National Guards troops sent to D.C. for the inauguration.

Ig Yeb or Willard are the nominee in 2024, it will be first time since 1972 I might stay home on election day.
It would have been a great Thank You to the NG troops and would not have cost the government a penny.
It would also have triggered the democrats as an added bonus.
Yesterday some NG troops were forced by the Caipitol police to “ rest “ in a filthy parking garage. The capitol police chief is a black woman.....another affirmative action appointment.

The Coronation was two days ago.
My first election at 18 was for Nixon in 1972. Since then I have voted conservative Republican in every election. The one exception was 2012. I could not vote for Romney and did not select a presidential candidate (McCain was really a tough one but he had Palin so I made the plunge).
DeSantis gets it. Very impressive military and academic resume. He’d get my vote for POTUS 2024. But I’m calling it now: Watch The Stupid Party do the obviously stupid thing again and waste his career by making him the running mate in another futile effort to generate excitement among the base for the party’s next dull POTUS candidate (Pence). The GOP will NEVER learn.
I don’t believe the new Capitol police chief moved the troops to the parking garage without directive from Speaker Pelosi. A Dem. Congress critter from MA had complained that a NG member was in the Capitol Dunkin Donuts without wearing his mask. NG were banished to the dungeon shortly thereafter.
No! We need him in Florida for two terms.
DeSantis needs to train his replacement, LOL.

Why did allow them to go in the first place?? That was a terrible move. DeSantis always seems to be on the wrong side only to have to correct himself later.
