Kenney calls Biden’s Keystone XL decision a ‘gut punch,’ wants Trudeau to consider economic sanctions

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says his government is “deeply disturbed” by U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to kill the Keystone XL pipeline expansion project.

Kenney said the move was a “gut punch for the Canadian and Alberta economies” and that the new U.S. administration should have consulted Canada before taking the decision.

“...Let’s be clear about what happened today. The leader of our closet ally retroactively vetoed approval for a pipeline that already exists, and which is co-owned by a Canadian government, directly attacking by far the largest part of the Canada-U.S. trade relationship, which is our energy industry and exports.”

Agreed. Trudeau is a drama teacher by profession and experience.As a politician he is stunningly sophomoric and a rank poseur. Trudeau will not allow the ascendance of any Western province economically because that destroys the traditional control held over them by the federal government.

I listened to the CBC News this evening on radio. nary a mention over the cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline by Biden, Trudeaus partner in bringing about a socialist “reset” by using the Covid crisis to increase the hold government has on the populations of both Canada and the United States. By order in council ( executive order) Trudeau has already outlawed long arms owned by Canadians under permit for forty years, now challenged in the Supreme Court.

These are difficult times. Trudeau will now begin making Canadians increasingly fearful, and he will pose to them as Canada’s only true savior. Its his only hope of timing an election call which he might win.

Would that Canada had its own Donald Trump.

Sorry, wont work. Oh it will slow the traffic down for a short distance and work at that specific location, but they will put the pedal to the metal after they come out of that thing and there still wont be any gap in the traffic.

One thing that should be done first is to designate a squad car to location every morning and afternoon. I called the State police after this last accident and talked to them. They are fully aware of it. I personally had people pass me going at least 75 in that 55 MPH zone. Every single morning and afternoon its like the Indy 500. Lower the speed limit down to 50 in the present 55 MPH zone.

Roundabouts are designed to keep the flow of traffic going. I have been to the UK 7 or 8 times and one of my kin over there in Scotland was a desk clerk at the East Kilbride police dept. They got one in that city that is four lanes wide and two or three stacked on top of each other. He showed me the accident average for that thing and they averaged three a day on that roundabout. What happens is that there is a massive failure to yield...you yield to anything coming from the right-its the UK.
Here it would be you yield to anything coming from the left. The problem is..nobody looks. I would like to see how many accidents have happened on that stretch of road (68) that were T-bones, or vehicles making left turns crossing traffic.

Where a roundabout would work is on Stockton Hill at Stockton Hill and Airway.

Here..Designate a police car for that 55 MPH zone and enforce the speed. Lower it to 50.
