In Biden’s befuddled state of senility, I could accept that he is sincere. However, his speech writers are none of the above. His speech is a bald faced lie, they know it, and their only hope is that they get by it with enough people that they are not run out of town.
To liberal democrats, the term “unite” means the rest of us need to surrender to their socialist rule. That’s never going to happen.
Something people are ignoring buy imho is picking up steam since the emergence of BLM global network, America as an Apartheid state. Just imagine the reparation opportunity if that sticks.

The left and their BS unity talk. They know it’s a lie, and they know we know it’s a lie. But they know it sounds good to the average Joe who isn’t paying close attention to politics and isn’t aware of the momentous ideological battle that’s playing out under the floorboards.

Biden can't restore unity because there is no interest in restoring unity. Unity requires compromise and neither side is interested in any sort of compromise.
He calls for unity so that he can blame the Right when it doesn’t happen. And, he’ll make sure it doesn’t.

The only difference between Biden and Trump in this respect is that Trump didn't try to fake it with phony 'unity' calls. Trump wasn't interested in working with the Democrats and made no bones about it. They could either surrender or he'd ignore them. I always admired that about him.
You can not restore that which never existed.
