Whether the play is to reform or repudiate the Republican Party, whatever is done must be done quickly.

The institutional forces arrayed against conservatism today are so daunting that either path holds dubious promise but there is no better time than now to take the chance. We hold no part of the government, indeed we hold virtually no institution across the country apart from some hapless statehouses and practically no civilian institution.

Our weakness, however, can be seen as our strength. For decades we have held our noses and voted for Rinos out of fear of Democrat dominance. Well, now that dominance is now fully upon us with a vengeance and we have much less to lose by culling the heard.

If we wait the weight of institutions arrayed against us will prevail and we will lose more than a chance to reform our political party, we will lose our liberty to aggressive progressives and very likely our country to the Chinese.

The practical path and therefore the preferred path would be to reform the Republican Party. I fear that is but an illusory hope because the establishment is broad and deep and very strong. As you point out, splinter parties are really suicide excursions because of the winner take all nature of our political architecture. Yet it succeeded against the Whigs but there they had the supreme moral cause: anti-slavery

To repudiate the Republican Party and form a new one, whether under Trump or without him, is a very chancy, expensive and long-term proposition. Nevertheless, that seems to be the sentiment on this board with which I reluctantly agree. The hope of reform seems to be illusory, witness the ruse written by Karl Rove in the Wall Street Journal appearing today.

. There are risks to either path but one must be chosen.

There is no other option than to create a third party. It may take a few election cycles but we have to play the long game. The GOP is so infested it may take six to twelve years to purge the RINOs. The name must be something that cannot be laughed at like tea baggers, pee pee party etc. just go with Conservative Party and leave it at that. It is what we are. The Grand Old Party needs to go to the dustbin of history. It served a purpose that has no longer shown to be useful. Too many traitors exist and some of them have been in office far too long. It starts at the local level. Trump could lead it I suppose but he really should just enjoy his money and his wife and family and leave the heavy lifting to us. We need to start disinviting the traitors to CPAC and dry up donations to the GOP. Reply to their requests with whatever language you want to. Some of the more conservative politicians will jump ship to us as well, but we don’t have to support those whose treachery is known.

It’s the long game. And it’s the right game.

What good does it do to form a new party when one party has solidified a method to manipulate elections?

What we probably need, is... to improve our cheating.

Our problem is: It’s MUCH easier to cheat in the cities, where there are large concentrations of votes in areas where Democrats have 100% control of the infrastructure. Just look, they only have to coordinate officials in 5 US cities to swing a lost national election. How many county officials do we have to bring on board to combat them? Plenty.

The logical conclusion of all of this is daunting. That’s why we’re all in such despair. Spoken, or unspoken... at some level we all know there is only ONE way now to save our Republic. Wait, did I say “save”. Sorry, I meant.. to “revive” our Republic.

The Deep Staters understand their position as well. They are making a BIG SHOW of punishing anyone and everyone who shows the slightest inkling of understanding our situation. They are raising the cost for each of us to consider in our personal calculus.

I wish I knew how this ends. What will it take for Orwell’s “Prones” to come in from the prairie and join the fray?

Frankly, I think we’re debating how to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic.

CW2 = Weimar X Yugoslavia X Rwanda

As the great philosopher Yogi Berra once said; When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
