McConnell?
Just when Washington has a chance to turn the page, fresh signs emerged Tuesday that the past is not yet past. It is almost certain now that the Senate will hold an impeachment trial of President Trump next week.
Even worse, it looks probable he will be convicted of a single charge stemming from the Capitol invasion.
The history-making event got the green light from McConnell (R-Ky.) on his last day as Senate majority leader.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) made it clear that permanently canceling Trump is his aim, saying Tuesday the president would continue to use “the prospect of a future presidential run to poison the public arena.”
“Donald Trump should not be eligible to run for office ever again,” Schumer added. “All of us want to put this awful chapter in our nation’s history behind us.”
“All of us” now appears to include McConnell and a decisive number of Republicans.
Near the finish, he said: “As I prepare to hand power over to a new administration at noon on Wednesday, I want you to know that the movement we started is only just beginning. There’s never been anything like it.”
It’s true there’s never been anything like it. But it remains to be seen whether his movement is just beginning — or close to the end.

Yes she does. Her name is (don’t laugh) Chinh. She lives in a beautiful three level home in the Q8 section of Saigon (I refuse to say Ho Chi Minh City). Her son, Phuong, owns a sandal factory and employs about 75 peeps
BTW, my wife was named Muoi. Muoi means #10 as she was the 10th kid and baby of the family.
We usually go spend 2 to 3 weeks visiting Chinh each year. Usually around their New Year. Naturally, not this year.

The “Trial” will be like Freisler’s Trials. Just screaming at the defendant without allowing them to say anything.
I agree; you are correct and that puts them beyond reach of traditional politics, especially with the Biden regime opening the borders and legalizing tens of millions of illegal aliens already here.
