President Donald Trump has discussed forming a new political party in recent days, hoping to continue his influence after leaving the White House, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday night...he said he would want to call such a party the Patriot Party, the sources told the paper. The president reportedly discussed the idea with several aides and others last week.

You talk as if the GOP weren’t already fractured. It is VERY fractured right now. The GOP establishment is deeply out of touch with regular, patriotic Americans who ONLY vote R because there is no other home for them (for now).

The GOPe today are like the Whigs of the 19th century.

The Whigs had a problem, and it was that it was fractured in many places but most notably about slavery. The Republican party was formed by anti-slavery Whigs *and* Democrats.

So too a new Patriot party can be formed with millions of patriots from the GOP, Dems, as well as Libertarians and Independents who are sick of the Uniparty.

I guess that you are ignorant of the fact that Perot ran for president twice ( 1992 and 1996) and that Stockdale was not his running mate in the 1996 campaign. On September 11, 1996, Perot announced his choice of economics professor Pat Choate as his running mate.
I never said that Stockdale was a flake, but you ran with your assumption that I did.

Here's the thing, the Republican party was based on two ideas:
1. Abolish slavery.
2. Abolish Mormon polygamy.

Those two things are gone
