I don’t doubt that there were a few mistakes in Gerald Posner’s Case Closed, but I was convinced that Oswald did it — for the obvious reason, because he was a radical Communist.
He was not a commie — but he was an actor. He is 50x more likely to have been a CIA false defector. His gf in New Orleans — can’t remember her name — said he was a right-winger obsessed with killing Castro and associating with others of his ilk in New Orleans. Oswald was on the payroll at both CIA and FBI and I would guess this is what is in the files being withheld. Both agencies would be embarassed and we can’t have that.
There’s plenty of evidence that Oswald was a Communist, and just shadowy claims that he was faking it. And plenty of evidence that he shot Kennedy. Are you denying that he brought a long cylindrical object (which had the shape of a rifle) into the Texas school book depository, and that he left after the shooting, and killed policeman Tippit?
He was not a right winger. He had spent time in Russia and had a track record as a communist. As for Castro, it’s very probable that Oswald was actually working for Cuba.
The right winger myth was part of an attempt to deflect attention from the Communists. Castro was very popular with leftist intellectuals, although not with JFK, and supposedly Castro had ordered the hit because JFK had made several attempts to bring him down. However, I will agree that the CIA was involved, but not on our side.
