It also needs approval from Puerto Rico and I don’t think that will be happening. Current governor favors current status, NOT statehood. Plus why would they vote to begin paying federal taxes?

Quite the contrary. The last three times it’s been asked Puerto Rico has voted for statehood. And the current governor is for it.

About dealing with the IRS, as we say here, that’s another $20.
